Push back the date please....

Now that I have ordered the polish, and heard how long it REALLY takes to polish an airstream I herby declair that the rally should be in November, so I have time to polish the Safari, after I polish the Overlander.

Are we all agreed on that one???LOL

Please, don't push back the date! We have the AS, the tow vehicle, temp licences, and finally open dates for June 11-13, so. . .our big question. . .do you have room for another pair of "old" mid-westerners, new to Airstreaming, at the Rally? I'm sure somewhere you have posted the procedures for reserving, but please refresh us. If you still have room, let us know. Oh, yes, we travel light so I'm not sure about all the provisions. What were the must haves? choc milk? togas? I promised Maid-rites. . .anything else?

Here is where the info is on how to get a reservation:

http://www.airforums.com/forum...0&page=1&pp=50

Keep in mind that the rates have now changed since these threads were started. As of April 15th any new reservations and unpaid days are at a rate of $20 per night (not kidding).

So the first night would be $25 ($20+ $5 reservation fee). Each additional night would be $20.

I was at an Illinois State Park this past weekend and all rates across the state have gone up to the rates listed above. I asked the ranger what if I had a reservation. He told me that the first night (if the reservation was booked before 4/15) would be at the $11 rate + $5 reservation fee. Each night after would be at the new $20 rate...... FYI....

Darn! But, that's okay. So we help out the Illinois State Parks with a little extra $$ for our first opportunity to camp Airstream. We will send our reservation in tomorrow-just hope there is still room at the campground with the group. I read Jack's information several times, missing the link to the reservations form. Finally found it and printed it off. We could get a little bit excited! No, a whole LOT excited!! No, not "could." ARE a WHOLE LOT EXCITED!!! This may be our first trip out. Is anyone volunteering for backing in rigs? We pay in cold ones! Maybe we'll get a pull through

So, uhhh... We'll be changing our latitudes to Margaritaville (Moraine View), watchin' for a brown eyed girl; and when we dine, we'll be having cheeseburgers in paradise wishing we were in a banana republic somewhere, Havana daydreamin', or thinking of Mexico, talkin' about another Saturday Night and growin' older but not up.

Parrotheads aye!

Excellent! We'll be looking forward to seeing you there! Hey, and don't worry about us backing you in. I'm REALLY good at it, and my trailer has all of it's dents, dings, bashes, scrapes and gashes to prove it!!!

By "Cold Ones", I presume you're referring to Chocolate Milk (in pop top cans, or long-neck bottles) as alcohol isn't allowed in the park...

Seriously, Laurie and I are planning on coming in Thursday afternoon, so we should be one of the first ones in, I'd expect. We'll get anyone who needs assistance taken care of!

Roger
