While groups of 25 or more are welcome and encouraged to use the park's facilities, they must be kept on leashes at all times. At least one responsible adult must accompany each group of folks in Airstreams.
Pets are required to register in advance with the site office to avoid crowding or scheduling conflicts.
Actions by nature can result in closed roads and other facilities. Please call ahead to the park office before you make your trip.
We hope you enjoy your stay. Remember, take only memories, leave only footprints.

ACTUALLY... it says PETS must be on a leash, and GROUPS must register in advance... but with THIS group, I thought the leash thing might be appropriate! Where in the world are we EVER to find a responsible adult to accompany us?

June 2004 Midwest Rally is Set!

Greetings Summerkid!

I am sure that you will find your dog is welcome at Moraine View - - even my little bundles of energy were welcome - - the little 2.5 pounder rules the Minuet as hers (despite her brother being three times her size) - - here they are guarding their domain:

I can't wait for the rally!!!! thank goodness it's still far enough away that we still have time to work on it though. It may show up half polished.....LOL

Can't. have to get Katies Overlander done. With the minor disasters, like the veneer problem, I'm scared to do anything. Actually, tore more of the OVerlander out yesterday, and took today off to work on it....Just....can't....get ....away ......from....forum..........

The magic of PhotoShop! Actually, the upholstery was threadbare and disintegrating in spots, and the underlying foam was in the process of turning to dust. Since that photo was taken, the coach has been to the Fowlers for a complete interior makeover. In fact, that was one of the reasons that I had the Overlander at last year's Moraine View Rally as the Minuet was in the shop receiving its "face-lift".

If I can keep enough oil in the engine, the Cadillac will be towing the Minuet to this year's Rally (worse-case scenario the Suburban will be the tow vehicle). A persistent rear main seal leak on the Cadillac has gotten worse - - just sitting in the past month it has lost more than one pint of oil.

OK, OK, I'm seriously looking into it. If Erica in Abilene will hang onto the Bambi that long, I thought about picking it up the first week of June & joining the rally on my way back. What better way to get quick feedback. But it's a little more complicated than that... my b/f is seriously worried about me towing across 3 states alone the first time & he can't take off work to join me. No worries from my point of view about a solitary jaunt but I also see no payoff in upsetting him unnecessarily just to prove my independence, so... I'm trying to find a friend whom I could fly to Abilene for the return leg... and then Jack could drive down to Moraine & meet me there on Saturday & the designated friend could drive the ragtop back to Chicago. Blah, blah blah... like y'all care but I feel like talking. If Osita (muh dawg) can come, that's one problem solved, though I wonder about the leash-at-all-times concept. Maybe there's a field nearby where the dogs could chase each other around a little?

Wink Riding partner...

Hey, Summerkid...not a problem! I volunteer Eric to ride along. After all, you guys are neighbors in Chi town, right? And he's going to the rally anyway! Other than his radical political views, he's harmless (well, mostly anyway) and a pretty nice guy. He doesn't have any bad habits (except for toga parties, drinking chocolate milk (that's what he told the ranger was in his beer bottle), and having fun camping!).

He'd be great company. He doesn't eat much, he's house broken, and he's always entertaining!

Thumbs up

I took 2 big dogs to last years rally. As lone as you keep them leased and you don't leave them alone. Also you need to pick up after it.
Hope to see you there. It was a great time last year.
Here is a picture of my 2 beast
