Thank you all so much for all the support and ideas for entertainment at our rally. I think we need to be careful about planning too many things in advance though. It might be better to all get together first and then decide what we are up for (depending on the energy level, weather etc.) The best rallies so far seem to be the most casual and flexible.

Hi guys. There was a little confusion earlier (and a quick bit of buzz on the back channel) but we just want to let you men know that we really appreciate your ideas and suggestions but we are trying to do this one on our own. Please take no offense...we know you are just trying to help. And we do love you...honest!

(And please don't kill the messenger )

Rivettes Rules:

as per post #69 in the Rivettes Summer Solstice Rally

Quote: R&R's in relation to Hubbies - no offence - but if they come along then it may really defeat the whole concept and purpose of the Rivettes IMHO.

I love my guy dearly - and we do everything together! But he has to have his own things to do as I.

Sort of like the days playing slow pitch - he had his mens team I had my womens' teams and WE had the mixed team - worked out great.

There are so many Rallies and functions out there that are "Mixed" I am sure he would love to go to some of them.

But I think if "one" shows up - we could give him a bonified role - of cooking our meals, dumping our poopers, making the beer runs and practicing being invisiable

I see this program all about the "Rivettes" so to encourage more people to come out - I think it is a great idea to announce come with or without your trailer. There is nothing more to boost someones confidence to see women "doing it" - towing that is Perhaps those that show up without one we could help with a personalized Rivette Lesson towing 101.

If I have to will buy a silver sleeping bag - put my big red numbers on my Grey Yukon - snap a few rivettes into the door panels, toss a portapoti and 5 gallon water jug in there and call it "anticipation" end quote

Nuff said...

Potluck(s)

So it sounds like there will be a small group gathering on Thursday. We could meet for dinner and either BYO around the campfire or head out to a local restaurant (or Tavern ) There is also a small cafe at the campground but I'm not sure when they are open.

Then I think we said another happy hour followed by BYO on Friday (or whatever we feel like at the time) and then the Saturday night potluck. Should we coordinate the potluck or just wing it? I'll probably bring dessert since these chocolate threads got me thinking...

And I'll bring pancakes and "faux" sausage for Sunday morning. Trust me, it's actually really good!

Ideas girls, chicas, ladies, women, sistas???

Anyone else bringing a pooch?

Sista's!!!!!

Count me in for Thursday arrival!

Breakfast: I make a mean cup o' joe for breakfast - under ONE condition:
That no one needs a cup before 10am .

(Dude, I just saw a movie... let me just say, I don't think I'll ever eat
another egg...)

Anyway...moving right along...dinner. Does that involve cooking?
Can I volunteer to be the bartender / cocktail waitress? Seriously,
I'll whip something up, rahhhhlllll special .
Grillin' is my gig.

I am so very excited!
Apologies for not being online with y'all more, just know I'm
thinking of you!

Cheers,
Kristiana

Oh yeah, I'm bringing Lil' Miss Osa Houdini Girl. She's a great snuggler!

Oh please do bring him--he's adorable! What's his name? Where did you get him?
I might bring one of mine, too.
My contribution to the eats will be:
One frozen chocolate ice cream/mousse cake.
One healthy vegetable casserole for balance.
More than one bottle of wine for imbalance.
And I promise to discard my husband upon arrival.

Janet

Oh you gals have all the cutest pooches and those menu items sound terrific! Kristiana won't they let you be cocktail waitress? I promise when you come East, we will all let you wait on us. Hope you have great weather and take lots and lots of pictures, especially of the hilarious kind.

I adopted the little guy from a couple who just moved to SB and couldn't have him in their apartment. I have a huge soft spot in my heart for homeless animals, so when I heard about him, I had to "rescue" him. I let my husband name him so he would let me keep him....so his name is now Frodo (he's a Lord of the Rings fanatic.)

My kids can't get enough of Frodo and he's been great company for our 4 year old lab, Riley. OK, one more picture and then I'll stop, I promise!

Chocolate seems to be a theme.....we may all have chocolate withdrawals after this rally!

Kristiana has offered to be our cocktail waitress, so let's stock the bar and keep her busy! Janet's bringing wine, I'll bring my signature vodka tonic, and some Kahlua and cream for around the fire after dinner.

Hi all...I was away for a few days but I'm back. I drove by Cachuma Lake on my way to LA on Sunday and it was beautiful...78 degrees, sunny, deep blue lake and sky. Gorgeous! Perfect for some camping R & R, Chicas!

What a cute puppy...Ed can't wait to meet his new friends.

Hi Paula. Thanks. Sure wish you and Cody could join us. Maybe Steve could drive down with you and then go play with the boys?

OK Girls

Let me know about Dinner on Sat. do you want ribs or on your own? Plus for those of you going to Casini Would like to give you all the ribs that I promised Big Dee my Bud. This is about 9 racks about enough to give everyone about 3 ribs each. Do not dispair my bud is wanting to attend to see all the Airstreams in one place BBQ sauce is available for sale. Lets see what the others have to say after Malibu.

Hey Everybody!

I'm not sure what to bring...maybe some 'grilled' veggies'???

Oliver is trying to decide whether to come to Cachuma for 'wild doggie fun' or to walk the streets of Laguna with my daughter Dana who uses him as a 'fashion accessory' and 'Guy Magnet'! Decisions-decisions!

We could do a good old fashioned cheeseburgers/hamburgers and hotdogs kind of grill...easy...and everyone can bring their favorite kind. Plus whatever side dishes, extras, and desserts people want to bring.
