So sorry it didn't work out. No controlling Mother Nature I suppose! We were super excited to attend. We'll book a site for next year when we get home. We took a detour and ended up at Edisto Island for the weekend.

Plan B - under cover of darkness arrived Little Talbot Island SP. can't see anything but it smells great (low tide). I imagine that only smells good to someone who is used to being by the water. Woll explore in the next few days.

Brad, we've stayed there. It's peaceful. We drove around exploring Amelia and surrounding areas. It was great.

We were concerned about flooding, so we moved to higher ground. Tallulah Gorge is beautiful! And we don't have any mosquitoes, so far.

Called the park yesterday, didn't have internet til Thursday night to get the word. Cancelled reservations. We stayed in Asheville a couple more nights and are heading to Edisto.
