Hill Country Spring Rally Reservations

Reservations are closed. All 20 slots are filled.

However do not despair!! Put your name on the waiting list as we always have a life intervention and someone needs to change their plans.

Check back periodically for more details.

And I am hoping that Mimi will consider some Dutch oven cherry cobbler this year. That cobbler goes fast as it is wonderful!!

Will do. Just leave me some space on the patio next to the pit so I can play with charcoal and fire without upsetting anyone.

Agree. He did a great job. I built a platform bed in place of the rear couch.

Opportunity for spot #13 for this years event!

If someone else wants to attend the Johnson City rally but could not get a spot, call Mark at Roadrunner RV in Johnson City ASAP! We have to cancel our trip to Johnson City rally this year, 4/12-4/14 due to babysitting commitment wife made! I just talked with Mark and let him know...if you want our spot, #13, he has it on hold. Sorry to miss this year, but good luck and enjoy...it is a fun rally!

Thanks; we may make it by one day while your "rallying"....wife booked Jellystone down the road a peace for the 3 granddaughters to enjoy. At least were out with the AS...I don't jump on the trampoline, so perhaps I can sneak away for a bit. We shall see. Enjoy! Should be better weather then we had last year!

Looking forward to meeting you. Some folks arrive on Thursday, others on Friday. Bruce and I provide protein and a side for Friday night, all other dishes welcome. Saturday night is all pot luck. There is a very large grill there to use if needed. See you then.

Weekend Activities

There are so many things to do in and around Johnson City. If this is your first time in Johnson City, be sure to visit the LBJ Ranch and do the tour.

The RV Park has a whole wall full of brochures of activities. Additionally, I did some research and here is what I found happening our weekend:

BURNET BLUEBONNET FESTIVAL, April 12 - 14
https://bluebonnetfestival.org/ for activities

FREDERICKSBURG: March 29-April 14
Texas Hill Country Wine and Wildflower Journey Enjoy Hill Country wineries and wildflowers with self-guided tours, including special events, tastings, and discounts. Various locations. 872-216-9463; texaswinetrail.com

BLANCO: April 12-13
Wild Woman Weekend An enjoyable way for gals to get together for all types of fun, this event raises money for area nonprofit organizations. Past event activities have included food and art tours, silent auctions, plant sales, shopping, live entertainment, karaoke, dancing, a 5K, yoga, painting classes, wine and chocolate pairings, self-defense classes, a taco and tequila experience, museum tours, film screenings, and mixology classes. Various locations, 2233 US 281.
512-750-6362; wildwomanweekend.org

BOERNE: April 12-13 Handmade Market
This market is a biannual, two-day event boasting creative and new vendors selling all handmade items. The products range from bath and body products to home decor to children’s items and food items. The market strives to bring new vendors to each event, and also bring back everyone’s favorites from past markets. Friday’s event includes a craft class, dessert, drinks, live music, snacks, and giveaways. Cana Ballroom, 202 W. Kronkosky St. 210-663-9046; visitboerne.org

FREDERICKSBURG: April 6-21 Wild flower Celebration at Wildseed Farms
Celebrate the arrival of spring and Texas wildflowers with colorful fields, great shopping, butterfly gardens, and special activities. Wildseed Farms, 100 Legacy Drive. 830-990-8080; wildseedfarms.com

FREDERICKSBURG: April 13 Bluebonnet Antique Tractor Ride Antique tractors, cars and trucks make a 20-mile loop through scenic Gillespie County. Various locations. rustyiron.org

Weekend Schedule

Or maybe the-unschedule is more like it. If you plan to arrive on Thursday, we usually have the bbq pit going if you want to make some dinner, or bring out some appetizers to share, sitting around the concrete tables.

Friday dinner provided by your hosts - BBQ ribs and chopped salad. Bonny and Sid are donating some sticky beans, so feel free to bring appetizers, sides or desserts. 6:30 ish depending on the pitmasters timing.

Saturday dinner - all potluck. The pit is available if you want to use it. Mimi is doing her dutch oven cooking also (YUM). 6:30 ish also for serving.

Hill Country Events

Based on the wildflowers in my pastures, I am sure the flowers on the Willow City Loop will be beautiful. This is a nice drive. Start early before it is crowded!!

Unfortunately, we must miss the rally. Just canceled our reservation with RoadRunner. We had a deluxe with 50A.

Wish you all the best, and hope to meet everyone during the next one.

I have been notified of a couple of cancellations, so it would appear there are open spots.

Call the park for verification and to reserve if you can make it.

Thanks for holding the rally. I am learning that Airstream people are a very friendly group. I am looking forward to getting home to work on the Bambi.
