Saturday is a also the night of the ghost tours, starting at 6 p.m. and the only night where the park is open until 10 p.m. instead of 6 p.m., so the only opportunity for night photography and walking around a moonlit Bodie.

How many of us are planning/hoping to be in Bodie that evening?

Hi miss Mod sorry to hear about your break in,so as far as Saturday pot luck some of us are going to Bodie that night so we cannot make the pot luck it's the only night they are open for walk,we will surly get together for Friday night social....do you think we can do like at Casini rally and have a raffle of our new unwanted items always fun.

Saturday night at Bodie sounds good to me. We'd like to do some night time photography there. Will everyone be there Friday? Maybe we could do potluck then.

I think a Friday potluck will be fine. As for the other nights, we all seem to find each other with food and drink anyway.
Potluck time will be Friday at 6 pm. Does this work for everyone? I think a Saturday lunch potluck might fall in the middle of everyone's daytime activities.

I'm not sure what kind of crowds come to Bodie on the weekends, but I think we're going to go to Bodie on Wednesday or Thursday. If we don't get enough, we'll go back.

Lynn and I last went to Bodie in July, 1980. Thankfully I did a good job of cataloging my many, many slides AND dating my self-processed slides. It was a gray day which challenged me to overcome 'flat' pictures The lack of shadows did create the mood of this town. A surprise to us was the picture that I took of our kids, Tiffany then 9 and Todd 5. Because of the rapid collection of the pictures I was taking then many of those pictures got a quick glance then into a file and forgotten. I guess I have to return to all of those 'memories' for a closer look.

This is our first trip with the group and don't know how much to bring to the potluck. How many people do you think will be there to eat? Also, we would like to go to Bodie for the night tour. Do we need to make reservations or sign up somewhere?

I think there will be about 40 people. But you are not expected to make a dish large enough to feed all 40. We always have more than enough food for everyone. If you make a dish that is enough to feed 6 people, you'll be fine. Like 1 lb. of pasta.
