The Trailer Park Troubadours will be performing at the Moneta Theatre in Sweetwater, TN on December 8, 2007. For those of us in the southeast this may be as close as the Troubs will be in 2007. Sweetwater is just off I-75 approximate mid-way between Chattanooga and Knoxville.
The nearest campground is a KOA off I-75 and the nearest state parks appear to be 30 - 40 minutes away. Anybody have any other ideas for camping?
I added this post to the end of another Troubadours thead but it may need to be its own thread. Any interest out there? Is this a forums rally in the making? Calling all forum members in north Georgia, north Alabama, western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee.

The Troubadours performance will be at Moneta Theatre in Sweetwater, TN. The web site for the theatre is Welcome to Moneta Theatre in Historic Downtown Sweetwater, Tennessee! The phone number listed on the bottom of the web site is for a local store that usally sells tickets for Moneta events. However, when I called them yesterday they did not know much about the show and were not certain they would have tickets. That may change since I think the show was just announced recently.
The Monroe Area Council for the Arts is actually the organization promoting the show. Their web site is Monroe Tennessee arts council performances The show is not listed on their online order page - once again, maybe it's too early to have everything updated.
We're making plans to attend. At this point the KOA looks like the most convenient place to camp. If the aluminum crowd comes together for this event there is a chance we could arrange a personal performance with Antsy and/or the whole band of Troubs. If play an instrument there's a chance you could do some pickin with the Troubs.

Lucius, it sounds like their could be some great possibilities here. I think the KOA is probably the only feasible camping option. Indian Boundary in Tellico Plains is 25 miles east of Sweetwater and will be closed for the season by then.
Maybe we'll get some discussion at the Falluminum rally this weekend. Since I don't have my December schedule yet I can't commit. But I'll try to be there.
If you want to see the Antsy McLain & The Trailer Park Troubadours perform at the Moneta in Sweetwater, TN you better get your tickets soon. The Moneta only seats 100 people!
Call Jack at 423-351-1098 to order tickets. The price is $15 each + tax and he will mail the tickets to you or you can pick up the tickets at will call the day of the show.
Danielle and I are camping at the nearby KOA. Contact them at 865-213-3900. We have not made our reservation at KOA yet because the off-season rates were not published as of today. I'll probably call back next week or use reserveamerica.com to make our reservation.

I contacted the booking agent for the Trailer Park Troubadours. If we can generate some interest in this event, and if we have lots of aluminum in attendance, we may be able to have a private party with Antsy McLain and the Trailer Park Troubadours. What do you think? I think we may be able to pull it off. No promises yet but sounds like a good idea.
I'll see if I can determine where the Troubs are staying for the night. Our camping area will need to be convenient for the band to come over for an informal gathering - maybe lunchtime - maybe late night after the show. We'll see how this shapes up.
If you don't have all the Troub CD's you better go out and buy them now. They're available at Antsy McClain and the Trailer Park Troubadours we also found them at the Airstream store, I think Amazon has them and they qualify for super saver (free) shipping from Amazon.

We just received a message from Martin & Blanche telling us the show has been postponed. We were excited about December but February works for us too. Maybe it's better this way - December is a busy month for most folks. Let's work on making this a rally - a cold rally... but a rally regardless.

Feb will most likely be good for us too. I am hoping that Antsy will do a Nashville show before then. We missed the show at Puckett's last year which had a lot of friends on stage as well.
