Gilbert Lake State Park Forums Rally 13-16 Sept 07
We just got back from a weekend at Gilbert Lake State Park, here in central NY near Cooperstown, NY and Oneonta, NY. Check it out. It was gorgeous! So, next year, this same weekend / time of the year, we are going to do it again, and we hope some of our fellow forums members join us! We will be in the Hill Top area. There are about 50 spots, with about 10 with Electric. A nice shower house with hot showers, laundry and a sode machine. The park has a dump station and a very nice lake with lots of trails. So, come on down, or up, or over next year! Plan on it. We enjoyed a really nice weekend with the Perkins. You will have to book your own sites through Reserve America. Check out the nearby parks here:

We hope to see many of you there!

Rob -- Do you know what site numbers are the "Hill Top area" for making reservations?
Thanks!

So who's coming?
Wanted to bump this to the top of the list. We'll be there, and hopefully others will be too! So, go to Reserve America and sign up for a spot. Let me know if you're thinking of coming.

Rob,
We are planning a vacation in NY and were wondering if this event is still happening. What can you tell us about the park itself: the sites are they flat, fairly spacious, etc? We are trying to reasonably accommodate a 33' Moho.

Rob we registered and planning to be there. You are #8 Perkins #9 and we are #10.
Received our confirmation. Wondering why we were not listed on the forums as planning to be there. How is this done? Or does it happen?

Yes, it's still happening
Yes, come on out!!! I have a bunch of Airstreams coming (mostly Vintage) and we also have some old Serro Scotties too! It's gonna be a good time.
I won't be getting in until around 8pm, in the dark on Thursday evening.
The park is nestled out in the woods between Cooperstown and Oneonta. The loop that will be open is a loop up at the top of the hill with a trail to the lake. The leaves should be chaniging so bring the camera. There is bath house in the middle of the loop that we'll be using. Bring warm clothes as it's already in the low 40s here in central NY overnight.
Thursday - on your own
Friday - Happy Hour at the Baker's - get together at 4pm (bring a snack and a chair).
Saturday - Happy Hour at 4pm (bring a snack).
Sunday - Hook up and tow home

Any one else coming?
Less than two weeks now. If you are thinking of coming, let me know if - the more the merrier. The leaves should be very nice. Bring a friend along. The sites are wide open, at the top of the hill. MHs welcome!

We are planning to attend. We did not make reservations, but it is on our schedule of events to arrive either Thursday or Friday. Looking forward to meeting everyone! Last we checked, site 11 is still available.

Sounds Great!
I won't be in until late Thursday night, as I'll be on travel all week. There are many sites, but only certain ones have electric. See you at the top of the loop. Rob

Potluck Saturday night?
I am thinking of us doing a Potluck dinner Saturday night around 530pm. Bring a dish, we'll put some picnic tables together and we'll have a feast. You bring your own drinks and flatware/settings. Also, bring a small dessert to pass.
Weather is looking great ... maybe some rain on Friday, but rest of weekend looks great!

Woh! The SOTR looks a lot different than when we saw it at Cherry Blossom!

Sorry we missed meeting everyone
Our week changed as the first campground we tried to go to turned out to be a dud so we ended up being in Laurens earlier in the week. Glad to hear that the weekend went so well: beautiful photos!
