Thank You

Thanks, for all the encouragement. I'll make it no matter what. Just feeling a little pushed for time with all the jet lag and the rush to get up there. Put in my leave slip and it's approved so reality has set in. I'M ON VACATION, starting tomarrow.

See Ya'll there.

Clancy Boy, keep in mind if you need a stop on Thursday night, you can spend the night in our driveway. We're in Marietta, GA and on your way. If so, just send me a PM and we can figure out the details.

Thanks Brad,

I hope to be able to get up there in one day - on Thursday. Maybe we can caravan up there. I'm looking for a way around Atlanta on some back roads. Don't need the Atlanta traffic.

The BAD news >>> The package with instructionns and mounting hardware has not arrived from Inland RV. They checked with UPS tracking and it should arrive TUESDAY (UPS is out here in the afternoon). I may go buy the hardware to get a jump on the install in the morning.

The GOOD news >>> Yellow Trucking called and confirmed a TUESDAY delivery. May be that the axle and hardware arrive at the same time.

The BEST news >>> I have a week OFF

We are also looking to arrive on Thursday PM. I am wondering what will be the best route from Nashville. I have gone to Helen past the Ocoee River via Rt 60. This time, pulling the trailer I was thinking of going straight down I75 to Dalton GA and pick up 76 straignt to Hiawassee. Does anyone have any suggestions what route would be easier? Map and Go states that going Rt. 76 will only add 15 minutes to my time. Are there less grades & twists going on Rt. 76 vs going Rt 60. With the potential for weather, I would prefer the safest route.

I prefer Hwy 76, it is pretty straight and only has a couple of noticeable grade changes. The exchange between I-75 and Hwy 76 is a little tricky but they have been improving it.

You may want to look at Hwy 64 through southern Tennessee and North Carolina as an alternate. Although it is pretty windy at the Tennessee/North Carolina border as you follow the path of a river. The scenery would be breath taking this time of year.

Looks like we're going to leave on Thursday night, stop over somewhere on the other side of Nashville and come in to the CG on Friday am instead of a late night Friday arrival. I am also interested in the best route. I don't mind curves and scenery in the daytime.

22' CCD at Georgia get together?

Hi All,

My wife and I are scouting out a new 22' International CCD but have not been able to find a dealer near Atlanta with one in stock to check out. Will anyone at the Georgia get together this weekend have one we could tour?

Thanks

THE FORECAST FOR FRIDAY, AND SATURDAY, WITH A 40% CHANCE OF SOME SHOWERS ON SUNDAY...LOOKS GREAT!!

EARLIER IN THIS THREAD ARE SOME MENTION OF DIRECTIONS GOING BY CALHOUN GA, TO 515 ( ALSO CALLED 575 FURTHER SOUTH TOWARDS ATL) WHICH HAS VERY FEW IF ANY HILLS ALL THE WAY THROUGH ELLIJAY AND BLUE RIDGE TO HIAWASSEE. YOU CAN GET TO CALHOUN DOWN I-75. IT IS SOME DOUBLING BACK, BUT SHOULD HOPEFULLY BE AN EASY DRIVE.

Directions

I'll be going through the Ocoee River Gorge on Highway 64 to Hayesville, NC and taking a right to Hiawasee. That is the way we went last time and it wasn't bad. A trick the truckers use on the River Road is to start blowing your horn as you come into the tight curves. It lets the oncoming traffic know you are coming.

Does anyone want to meet in Chatt Town and caravan? I'll be leaving about 3:30 on Friday.

Devoman, I am so glad you and Misty will be coming. It was great getting to meet both of you on Saturday!

our gang should be leaving out of woodstock friday after lunch, maybe before 2:00... if i can get my trailer out of the yard without totally COATING it in mud, that is!

it might be a working weekend for me. i still need to get my power converter installed. it'll get awfully dark in there at night if i don't! haha!

Brunswick Stew on Friday

I agree Sugarfoot, SO much to do and time is short. I only heard back from a few that were wanting stew for Friday. But there will be a pot on the stove. It might be better to plan this way, because outdoor cooking may be kind of iffy. Planning for great weather and fellowship, fun, and learning about AIRSTREAMS.
