Sorry, I was not at work yesterday. I think we should probably start around 5. Since we have so many folks this time, we might want to spread it out among our sites. We'll look at it when we get there and see what we want to do.

If anyone has portable tables, please feel free to bring them. And, of course, don't forget your chairs!

9 days to go!

tables are a must. i don't think the campsites have picnic tables, but there's probably group shelters or something. a boat ramp in the campground, too! nice! there might be a few rivetted aluminum boats there as well. they go hand in hand with the airstream look... if it's not raining, that is...

Don't even go there with the rain. I checked the extended forecast for Hiawasee last night. Rain chances next week up through Thursday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a clearing trend.

since our sites are together maybe we can do a spill over onto both for this dinner ....I will bring whatever small tables I have.
The group picnic shelter does not seem to be too close to our main area.

Rain in Georgia? If it does you wait a few minutes and the weather will change.
Maybe next time we can shoot for the area that has the full hook ups and the picnic pavilion nearby. There is a fee to use but it couldn't be much.

I have portable shelters

My list keeps growing, but I have a pick up truck and will be glad to bring the shelters. I have the A-frame type 10 x 20 and I have 2 of them. They would need to be set up in a fairly level area. I'll bring them just in case, and if I have them WE WON'T NEED THEM. Keep praying for good weather.

The TV's were driven by the chauffer and had a phone that connected the tow vehcile to the trailer so the family rode in the trailer and could communicate with the chauffer. They also usually had their butler and maid tending to them in the trailer as they toured the country. I don't think they were ever intended for overnight "camping". The only one I have seen wasn't set up for camping, but it did have a bath room and small kitchen.
I did not know that! Thanks for the bit of trivia. I just thought it was a cool picture.

The history part mainly came from an episode on the Travel Channel that had a segment on Tin Can Tourist. IIRC, they were made by Glen Curtis and were named the Aerocar.

Common area

I don't recall a group shelter where we are, and space is a bit of a premium in our area of the campground (there is a group shelter, but it is on the other side of the highway - no way). I think the best general area for any "common" activities is in or around the 80's campsites.

So you are aware, the registration office is on the north side of Route 76, and our area is across the street. That road can be a bit busy, so take care when going from the registration office to our campground.

We have decided to try and go.I am checking my work schedule and hoping I can do this.It is really hard to leave right now but I am going to find out tomorrow if it is possible.Crossing my fingers.
We have never been to a rally of any sort and I am now hoping that this one can be our first.
If it happens I am hoping there is still room left to get a spot in there. It seems there is a famous singer coming there the 21 so it makes me wonder.I will know tomorrow though.

A famous singer? Cool maybe we can jam some Saturday Night. PizzaChop (Ron) will hopefully stay long enough to play some with us.
As for me...I am not what I would consider famous but have a look at this;

www.atlaliveandwell.com

for the heck of it.
