Each trailer has "needs" that are different from the rest, but it will most likely be the 72 Ambassador. I have also convinced my friend Doug from Gastonia, NC to come along and bring his 1965 Safari. He doesn't own a computer but I told him the A/S is all he needs to attend. He has been working on his trailer for 3 years and still finds "tinkering" to do every day. He says it keeps him young. He will be on site 68. Kevin

This Is Great

I cannot believe the number of sign ups. This is forming up to be quite a turnout. This will be our 1st rally and I cannot wait to see the "Field of Silver" when we all fill up the park. I will be glad to meet all of you and have some faces to names.

Now all I have to do is get home and change my axle.

Clancy Boy, how are things for you in the Sea of Japan? You mentioned something once about the possibility of being at sea longer than expected if the ship had problems. Will they be getting you home in time to change your axle?

Way Close for ME......

I'll have 6 days to do the axle change. I feel that is enough time but the jet lag from flying from over here gets harder and harder to overcome. I'll be out in my driveway at 2am working when I get home just because it takes me 3 or 4 days to switch over to local time. Not as young as I use to be. Done all the reading up on the subject and not to many gotcha's to be found, I hope to have it done in one day and then complete the loadout for the ride up. Afetr living in a big steel rolling box for 6 weeks I'll be glad to change it out for an ALUMINUM one.

I'll have to call Andy at Inland RV to coordinate the axle shippment with my arrival home.

My wife, two kids and I are going on our first outing in our new-to-us '66 Safari this weekend. We are going to a bluegrass and folk music festival at Elijah Clark State Park in North East Georgia. We (the kids and I) have been camping in the driveway the past two weekends and can't wait to get out there and experience this Airstream thing.

I have been so envious of all of you who have signed up for the Fall leaf thing that I am going to make my reservations in the morning. I am assuming all of you are reserved in Area 1, correct?

The reason I haven't jumped on it already is that I have been waiting for a date confirmation for a project that will take me to Cashiers, NC for a week sometime in October. Don't know exactly when yet and was trying to wait until I knew if the schedule was going to work or not. But I can't take it any longer, and will reserve a site tomorrow.

I look forward to meeting all of you in October.

Newurban,
can't wait to have you join us. My wife and I work at a private school in Rabun county and we can offer you a place to park your trailer for a few days if you need to because of the job in Cashiers. We are in area 1 and look forwared to meeting you and the kids.

Wow, this is awesome. And a big hearty welcome to you, Newurban and family. Look at how much this group is growing, and we still have a month to go before the ralley. Will be the first time I've seen so many Airstreams in one spot in years. There's not even a dealership in my neck of the woods. This will bring back memories of the South Florida trailer parks when I was a kid.

Our 12 year old son will be with us, possibly one of his friends. Our 17 year old daughter wiould rather stick pins in her eyes. Actually, that's not true - she has high school band activities.

I'm still quite new to the site and haven't posted much. I have been lurking around a good bit and have found a lot of the information I will need for buying and restoring, but am still silver deficient.
The ironic thing is I will be in Hayesville, N.C. that weekend and will probably have a chance to stop by Friday afternoon if that is o.k.
Will most everybody be there by that time? I am hoping to be able to wander the campsite and chat with a few of you. Hope everyone has a good time. Somehow I don't think that will be a problem.

Brent

Oh, I'm sure you will be welcomed by any and all that are present at that time. We attended a couple of the rallies before we bought our Airstream and we felt welcomed. Unfortunately, we have a conflict or we would be there. I'm really hoping to make the one in the spring.

Come on over. My gang will get there between 6-7 on Friday. We'll do the pot luck dinner on Saturday if you want to come on Saturday also. Whatever fits your schedule!
