We will be coming in on Thursday PM and staying till Sunday AM... Saturday AM sounds good...I might even be able to scare up some TN country ham I'll think my MIL (who lives in Helen) might stop by with some homemade bread... The espresso machine will be hot every morning so stop by.

Scrambled Eggs

My wife says I make great scrambled eggs. I'll pick up some eggs on the way up if you don't mind me adding to the breakfast club. I make them plain or any additional items you may request. i have good fortune to of had a Father that was an expert at breakfast, any time of the day.

Here in New Mexico we don't need griddles for eggs. We walk the chickens through the chilie patch and they lay them scrambled !!!!!

The very first time I ever met my father-in-law, he tried to kill me with a skillet filled with the mix you are suggesting. He called it his "chili bean omelet". I had a mild hangover and Susan and I had to drive back to Texas from Florida later that day. Along about the Mississippi river bridge in Louisiana, I couldn't take it any longer. "Susan, hun, you gotta drive". Cold sweats, upset stomach, yuk. Thought I was gonna die. I was a much younger man in those days and no appreciation of "hot food" (as in spicy, I've since learned to love it!). Hey I'm from Georgia, ok? Spicy food isn't really a main stay of the local cuisine here.

I am losing hope that Susan and I will be able to bring the camper up there for this rally, as much as I hate to admit it. It simply isn't going to be road worthy. Time is an extreme enemy. I'm beginning to think that (gasp!) we may need to try to get a hotel and come and at least visit with y'all. So, for the moment, plan on us as a visitor on Saturday. Somebody tell us what to bring for the pot luck (is beer a good option?).

Jim

Jim, it would be great to meet you both even if you are staying at a motel nearby. There are some right up the street from the park.
I think beer is an excellent option.

Jim, it would be great to meet you and Susan. I remember seeing some motels just up the street from the park. We have had other Rally participants who had Airstreams that were not quite ready for prime time, but if towable or driveable they brought them anyway. If thats not an option, we welcome walk ins!!

we have had some past Rally participants who had Airstreams that were not quite " ready" but they were towable or driveable. If that is not the case, Jim we sure would be happy to have you and Susan as "walk ins". Bring whatever you like. I seem to remember hotel/motels very near to the campground also.

all she needs is new tires and workign lights! we've been camping all summer in our trade wind with NO toilet, NO water heater, NO propane, stove or fridge... but she's got an awning and some shotgun xmas lights! it'll get done at some point... no rush!

think of it as an aluminum tent this year.

Jim, what part of Georgia are you from? I'm from South Georgia and spicy is a mainstay in food there. Hot pepper sauce for the greens, halopenia (sp?) for the side item, red pepper flakes on the pizza, spicy chilli in the winter, so many different spicy foods to choose from. My wife, Swedish by bloodline and reared in Augusta, even likes stuffed halopenias!

Is anyone welcome to come to the rally?

Is the rally open to people without Airstreams or do we want to keep it solely AS trailers? We have some friends from Buford, GA that may want to come up and meet us, but they don't own an AS. Would that be okay with the group?
