I'm still quite new to the site and haven't posted much. I have been lurking around a good bit and have found a lot of the information I will need for buying and restoring, but am still silver deficient.
The ironic thing is I will be in Hayesville, N.C. that weekend and will probably have a chance to stop by Friday afternoon if that is o.k.
Will most everybody be there by that time? I am hoping to be able to wander the campsite and chat with a few of you. Hope everyone has a good time. Somehow I don't think that will be a problem.

Oh, I'm sure you will be welcomed by any and all that are present at that time. We attended a couple of the rallies before we bought our Airstream and we felt welcomed. Unfortunately, we have a conflict or we would be there. I'm really hoping to make the one in the spring.

Come on over. My gang will get there between 6-7 on Friday. We'll do the pot luck dinner on Saturday if you want to come on Saturday also. Whatever fits your schedule!

Please, do come on by. I'm so pumped that I will get there a day early just so I can calm down some.
Really, I'm so new to setting up that I don't want all the pros getting a good laugh at my backing up and setting up skills (or lack there of).

you are certainly welcome to stop by for chat and fellowship.
I won't make it until Fri evening maybe 6:30 or so. We can't leave until after 4 when my son gets home.
Hopefully this will not be my absolute first trip towing this rig...I have gotten a ton of stuff done, but not sure when I can get away for an overnighter in the next weeks. Oh my gosh, pulling in, backing it in a setting up for the first time with all you aluminauts around? Yikes, might be a good thing actually

Ya know, I still don't think any of us are in spots 50-52, and the campground told me they were already reserved last month. Think they might feel a little overwhelmed by aluminum?

yes some white box trailer surrounded by our shapely, shiny, silver ones. It might be a bit intimidating

Shoe is on the other foot....
Now the SOB will know how it feels when we go to a campground that's not a rally, silver twinky surrounded by a sea of white boxes.. Maybe we can all team up and ask to "check out" their camper. Shoe will be on the other foot.......
May make a convert out of them - who knows????
The camp ground must be looking at their scheduling book and wondering what's up.

I have convinced my wife to pull our son out of school early on that Friday - you know, to avoid traffic and make the trip a bit safer. So, our goal will be to arrive around 4-5 pm. Yeah!

We won't be hiding
Hello everyone.. We will be there in site 56.. but we will not be hiding in our sldeouts or our queen size bed.. lol.. We take the 5th wheel to Fla for the winter and have a 30' Argosy at home waiting for a redo.. .. know the feeling of being the only Airstream in a sea of white.. that was us last winter.. it was too small to winter in for 6 months parked in one place.. had another one 8 days later.. we are hooked on Argosys..

another candidate for the longest travel to our get together!! Look forward to seeing you there.
Since it looks like a great group- I offer up the following schedule of events. This is a firm schedule no variation will be tolerated!!!
1. Arrive and check in.
2. Set up campsite.
3. Meet and greet new and old friends.
4. Share Airstream and related knowledge as well as unrelated knowledge.
5. Breathe in some nice Georgia Mountain air.
6. look at the leaves changing colors.
7. Eat, drink, chat, listen to tunes.
8. Whatever else you want to do.

Hello again from New Mexico--Our plans are to arrive the 19th. We're excited as it's been years since we've seen the fall foliage in the east. We leave monday and will spend the next month getting there. Have no definate route but as of this hour I think we'll head up through Nebraska then wander eastward. Hope to swing by the AS factory for a tour then head down that way. Anxious to put faces with names.----pieman & alamode

I can tell you it is very cool, and you will all be welcomed.
On another note, I have a rack on my TV and will haul a bunch of firewood for a community fire - if they are allowed (do not recall).

did anyone ever say what the plan is for saturday nite? i heard rumors of a dinner thing. just want to know what to tell the misses. she hates it when i leave her unprepared. i think david's bringing a projector, screen and the movie "RV" to watch outdoors one of those nites. we'll call it a "tow-in" movie...
jp
ps. i like your plan, alan... personally, i crack my first beer once the jacks are down. ha!
