El Camino Real has one business meeting a year in connection with one of the rallies, usually September, and we have one luncheon, the installation luncheon in connection with the December Rally.

I camped at this same spot twice last year in February. Yes it gets cool at night, but we only ran the Cat heater for about 20 minutes each morning. We must be tough . We also have a double bed and 3 dogs. The outside temperture did get to the upper 30's one night, but the trailer stayed close to 50 degrees. After a summer of 100+ degree days, I like cool!
I also have a Honda EU1000 generator (with the 12 volt charge cable) and anyone who needs to top off their batteries is welcome to borrow it. We did not have this last year and had plenty of battery left at the end of the weekend.
My wife and I have sent in our registration since the FCU rallies proposed for 2007 fit our ideas fo places to go, see and do. But I wanted to ask a question about the WBCCI rallies. Would you have to restrict attendance if FCU does become a WBCCI unit?
Motoman.. In some cases yes, but in the beginning we will likely have a few 'buddy rallies' to generate interest from new people.. I've discussed this point with other perspective FCUers and the point of this unit is INCLUSION not EXCLUSION.. That is the reason for the get back to basics approach.. Keep the business part of the club "on-line" and use our precious time for what is important... CAMPING..Fun..Family....

Of course... as I see it most of our rallies will be a 2-10 hour tow from most points in the region so come on out..

Generators at Dead Horse State Park? The park web site says no generators. Are generators allowed in the group area? I will bring a 1KW generator for sure, but would bring the 3KW generator if they are allowed.

Airstream25: When I downloaded the park map, it says "Generators are prohibited in campgrounds".

My wife says it sounds fun so we'll be there.
We'll bring mountain bikes and metal detectors (looking for GOLD ).
Leave Friday after work from Hemet, CA. Have NO idea when we'll arrive....probably stop somewhere along the road and sleep and arrive Saturday sometime. Probably drive out the 10 freeway.
See you there
Heater? We've got a small propane heater, two 75watt solar panels to recharge the double 6V golf cart batteries, a Honda EU2000 generator, AND a Honda EU3000 (if it is needed)....could power up several trailers with the 3000. I'll bet the weather stays above 70 the whole time (hahaha)!!
The WBCCI ? My wife and I are still teaching at 56yearsyoung. Most rallys happen midweek through Sunday mornings so we have not participated with the C. Real group except once years ago on a trip out to the Palmdale area.
We cannot get away from school early on Friday and need to be home early Sunday to prepare for Monday so it has always seemed too much of a rush to go for such a short time. Most of our trips are within a 3-hour range out to the desert in the winter months with a couple of local friends with trailers. We don't trailer any farther unless there is a 3 day weekend or we get a week off as we do for this rally. So most of the WBCCI rallies just aren't convenient for us.....this one sounds alot more like our style of camping and we'll not be under any pressure to get home after it ends.
Yahoooo!! So see you there. We look forward to meeting some new people there. I'll get our $$fee$$ sent in right after payday (hey, that was today!)
(Teachers sure do talk alot )

We look forward to meeting you at the rally. The Monday after the rally is President's day. You may not have to leave as early as you think.
