I hope I didn't offend you. I meant nothing by the comment except to have a little fun. And I really shouldn't be throwing any stones here , because I am the worst typist, sometimes having to edit my posts several times to correct all the errors in them (this one included).

I do appreciate the effort to see if there is interest in a National Forum Rally and if so, the preferred location for it. It'd have to be reasonably close to home for us to attend, but if there is enough interest hold it wherever the majority want it. If this thing takes off, WBCCI (which we also enjoy) could be in trouble.

Hi Codybear -- You can scroll through by month if you click on Rally Calendar above. A contact person is usually responsible for discussing site reservations. Regional rally announcements tend to be discussed at various times in the Forums. For site reservation purposes and your planning convenience, a committment may be necessary some months in advance. For the Forums at least, these are arranged informally at members' own initiative and become what we make of them (eg, inviting dealers, etc).

And yes, California is spoken about IIRC. Keep your eyes open -- I know you'll get a sense for what is closest to you.

Okay, so I go off on tangents once in a while. Here goes another. Why not hold a traveling rally? Some of us are retired and can travel when we want. Others cannot but would still like to meet forum members. A traveling rally would start someplace like Texas in the Winter, move to perhaps Florida, and then perhaps north to the Midwest or Northeast then west and so on staying a few days in each location. In that way folks that can't just go, can schedule to join the rally when it comes to their area.

Ever been to one of those dinner parties that go from house to house for each course of the meal? something like that. Kind of like a Caravan with rallies at each stop.

Must be some full timers that would like to do the circuit.

Somebody else can take a look at west coast locations and great lake locations.
A Great Lakes location sounds good, somewhat central to a larger area, including our neighbors to the north, eh?

It's somewhat centrally located, and would be great motivation for those forum members who have issues with Airstream, or WBCCI, or both. For the rest, it would be a good way to get back to our roots.

I like your idea and having several main rally locations but I don't think anyone liked my name for the event. Forum Outpost 2007 'Course I thought it was simply brilliant if I do say so myself!

Cooperhawk, post #17--what an incredible idea! I think this could be a go Maybe just a few might be willing to try the first time, but at each location other regional members could assemble around the core group. Too cool! What ambassadors for the forum. ~G

I liked the name! (Sorry I didn't say so earlier. )

I like the traveling rally idea too -- a rally/caravan combo. A rallavan? Caravally?

There are more than open fields in KS and NE. I wouldn't mind going to a rally in NE or KS (outside of tornado times of year). East coast or west coast is a long shot at best because they're on polar opposites of the country and difficult for many others from the other side to be able to swing if they are working. Far south or far north, similar.

If you do a traveling rally, most of what you might have, may be a local type rally (which is already being done) with a few roadies.

I think if it's going to be a national type forum rally, it has to be in the center of the country (or pretty darn close) knowing that no matter what location is chosen, even if it is in the center, you won't please everyone. If you want to see what's in NE or KS, do a google search on state and national park campgrounds.

To give you an example of a successful forum rally, take a look at what Jack Canavera has put together, now going on it's 4th year. It's a midwest rally and it's held in the central midwest, for all midwesterners (and others so inclined) to be able to make it within a reasonable commute. It's not uncommon for 20+ units to show. This year it could top 30.

One more thought (like we need ONE MORE-lol) is if there is enough people interested, there could be several forum rallies-say top four winners of the poll? I know that I'd love to meet up with others from the forum, but traveling too far is not an option for this working family. I understand one major rally for the forums, but this poll could also open up the idea of more central rallies for members who cannot travel too far.
