Smile Michigan is a lovely vacation spot!

Lots of beautiful beaches, forests, fishing lakes, and great campgrounds! Great food too!

Looks like irv2.com has a little over 50 for their National Rally. So, I would assume 100-150 for ours. That is a lot of units. Most campgrounds in Florida would have this kind of room in August

random thoughts during lunch break...

The heck with it. Let's quit our jobs, load up the cats, dogs (kids too) and guitars and roam the country doing good deeds for those less fortunate. Friendly folk and thankful local authorities would gladly let us camp in their open fields and parking lots and feed us delicious organic food. We could work odd jobs in exchange for beer, bio-diesel and Internet access. An endless forum rally/safari. And Canadians are more then welcome if they bring beer (just kidding).

Neat idea. I'm sure eventually it's gonna happen, particularly if the formal club continues down it's path.

I voted in the poll for some place like MO, within a few hundred miles of there in any direction on that poll thread.

Of course, I noticed gas price went up near $2.63 for the 87 octane stuff and if it stays that high or goes higher, I could see that impacting some folks (like me).

Actually, Petite Jean Mountain State Park just n.w. of Little Rock would not be a bad choice at all. It'd be rough on people from the Pacific northwest or New England, but is about equidistant from south Fla. and Southern California. The campground is huge, plus there is a 100+ campsites in the overflow area. Lots to see and do. In October it would be truly awsome.

Is there anyplace in the Smoky Mountains that would be large enough? Or, in summertime, anywhere in the San Juan Mountains of New Mexico/Colorado?

See what happens when I'm not getting paid to think, I've started a geological war. The Minnesota State Fair is one of the biggest in the country, remember I said (ONE) of the biggest, they also have One of the biggest HOT ROD events there to, for about Four days, it's called Back To The Fiftys that the NHRA puts on. I know for a fact that the fairgrounds would hold at least a thousand or maybe even two thousand or possibly more trailers, just a thought. Maybe Canoe Stream will chime in on this and give us his thoughts on the state fairgrounds.

Well for my 2 cents worth I'd love to meet ya'll in person along the way. Regional rallies may make more sense. I'm up for the inpromtue..... soooooo... If anyone wants I'll start letting you all know where I'll be in the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida and you can all meet me at Wally World, or where ever.
I'll be in Myrtle Beach ...again... and moving south next week..Pawley's Island.
