Falluminum In North Georgia Mountains
We have had a number of laid back fun times in the N. Georgia Mountains.
Our next get together will be October 26 weekend at the Georgia Mountain Fair Campground Section 1. Be sure to book section one and try to get between sites 74 and 31 ...or nearby.
After calling and emailing five parks, it seems October is almost sold out all over our area.
Having been to Lake Chatuge before...we know it will be ok...no Pavillion this time BUT there are 70 or more sites available and many are water front.
We will have a fabulous weekend of fun, food, music, fellowship and Airstreams...of course. Anyone is welcome trailer or not.
WHEN YOU CONTACT THE PARK;
By Mail:
Georgia Mountain Fair, Inc. 1311 Music Hall Road, Hiawassee, Georgia 30546
By Phone:
706-896-4191
Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds: Hiawassee, Georgia: Country Music Capital of Georgia
BE SURE TO MENTION THE "Georgia Airstream Campers " RALLY SO THEY PUT YOU IN THE RIGHT AREA...section 1 only....

Not even a week out from Springstream . . .
. . . and I'm already booking for Falluminum! Just now reserved site 46, the same one we had last fall. Mom loved that spot so it will work out well for us. I tried for 50 or 51, but again they are booked. Probably the same SOBs that seem to camp out there for the summer. Let's smother them in aluminum.
We're looking forward to another great event on the lake.

We're In!
I just booked Site B5 for the weekend of the 26th - 28th. All of the C-sites are booked! and the only B sites available were B1 and B5.
Oh well, we took what we could get. Last time we were in F1 and that was a nice site as well, even though it wasn't water front.

I was so excited to post that we were coming that I booked the site in the wrong area. After looking again at the details, I called back and asked them to switch my reservation to Area #1. We are in site 53 now...sites 50-52 are booked for the entire month.

I just booked site 48. It's right on the water. Seems the sites on this side of the highway are smaller than the ones on the other side so it might be a tight fit, but we'll manage. See y'all in the fall...wo, I made a rhyme.

Unless things change, at work, it doesn't look like Nancy and I will make it. We have our fingers crossed. Anyway sounds like another opportunity to have gret time with wonderful people. Enjoy.

Howdy all.
Just booked site 37 for 3 nights (arrive Fri eve, leave Mon) . Had trouble finding an open site big enough for our "new" Sovereign ('83 31') . We are really thrilled about getting this trailer. We have been out once (Chattanooga/Ft Oglethorp?) and hand-delivered the Nick and Nora twin sheets to Sugarfoot (won at Springstream) .
Hope there is an opportunity to play some music again-no pavilion though.

And a lovely '83 Sovereign it is! I was privileged to be invited to the first breakfast in their new Airstream this past Sunday morning. And I got Nick and Nora Flamingo sheets to boot. Good company and new sheets, who could ask for more. Thanks Phil and Sue!

Dacia, thanks for being a great sport and coming down to visit. We really enjoyed having you join us and were thrilled that you liked the AS.
I talked with the owner of the Spartan. It's a 1955 Imperial Mansion, 43' I believe. He has restored much of the look and feel of the interior, with marine varnish over new wood. It's got 2 bedrooms ( I did NOT go in). He said that his Dad had Spartans as he was growing up, and they traveled for his job. He indicated that he usually gets 15-20 "chats" per year, and several offers to buy. The last offer was too low though ("people are not willing to pay what it's worth").

Well, how about that. One of these day's I'll have to go back down to the park and see if he'll "chat" with me. I'd love to peak inside.

I'm in for October !!!
Hi group, I reserved site #68 this morning. The lady who answered the phone reminded me that these sites are smaller, don't have cable or sewer, and in general are not as nice as on "the other side". HEY !! This is camping !! Looking forward to seeing all the alluminum in the fall. This time I'll be sure to bring an A/S product.
