How was it side to side. We were in C-1 for the Springstream and used all of our linx leveler blocks and still had to get creative to get the Airstream level. I have some at home I leave in place so I don't have to re-level every time we get home (it's usually dark) and I it soundsl like I may have to plan on bringing them for the rear stabilizer jacks.

It's a nice wide site plenty of room to back in, BUT there are drop offs on all three sides that are steep. Nice view of the lake. I have pictures of my Caravel in the site I will post for you to see - I believe I took one from the front of the site looking back. You should have no problem - just off the back side is a drop off and you may have to park forward a little to get your stabilizers down. The ground off the pad was new last year - so it was unpacked and not able to carry a load like level jacks.
I think #49 is a great spot. You can see all the Airstreams along the water side.Only thing is though is that will need to run a 50' hose.Be prepared because it is further than you think.also site #47 is a long one also so bring an extra hose.I think that one is further than yours.I was running 2 25' hoses and they just reached. It was tight though.
WooHOO, Clancy Boy! Site 49 it is. Now I can make plans.
BTW, ALANSD and Camperski, check that you have solid confirmation on your sites. Your's (44, 47, 61, 62) are sites the office gave me as OPEN. She could have been confused since I was probably overwhelming her with my questions.
By reciept and verbal today...you have us on the map right!

I got my receipt in the mail yesterday, but nowhere does it mention what campsite I have reserved. I have to go back and look at my previous posts to see where I will camp (at least, where I tried to reserve).
I wanted to get my name on the list for attending and I searched for a while to find the calendar before I realized it was a link ("Rally Calendar") in the grey-colored header on the top of each page.
Hey, all looks like we are in 63 again. Just like last fall. I like the attempt as you called it at a logo. We have to get shirts for ourselves this time. Any body know if there were any left over from the Springstream?? We had a great time few weeks back look forward to seeing you all and hearing about your summer trips. Can some one direct me to the pics and follow up from Springstream??
I think there were 0 shirts left from the Springstream. If folks like the logo I made we can get shirts for this one too I will price them out.. unless someone else has connections.
For those who are interested the Georgia Airstream Campers Group on Yahoo is going to turn into a seperate and very nice ( hopefully) website of its own, but i would like to extend it into a Southeastern group, and not exclude anyone AIrstream or not...just encouraging the spartan, Avion, and whatever you have aluminum or ( whatever in general) to join us.
Same idea, no dues, rules or razz-a-matazz, just --- free, fun, fires, food and campin'
Will keep those who are interested posted...email me at alans_david@yahoo.com if you are not already on the Georgia Airstream Campers group list.

Rallys twice a year..Lots of fun, food, and aluminum.
When I get back from this Bluegrass festival (with a faster connect) I'll update the map. GlenCoombe is also off the peninsula and now closer to the action in site 79. It would have been sad for a unique Funeral Coach like Glen's to be across the pond in the land of SOBs.
Our son is getting married in North Carolina that same weekend, but if the I Do's are done and we are free, we might pop in on Sunday to check on you guys and make sure you are having the required amount of fun.

Why don't you bring the Overlander and swing by Hiawassee on your way up, drop it off a day or two early and after the wedding, drive on back over for the rest of the weekend.

Thanks, Kathy. Sue and I rode to the Fairgrounds today and looked at the sites. Got some pics of ours and some adjacent sites.
I also stopped and talked with the office, and the pavilion in Area 2 could be reserved for us for $50 for the day. But, I don't really like the idea of camping in Area 1 and pot-luck/entertaining in Area 2. There is a rental place just North of 76 on the road at the McDonalds there (thought about renting a canopy/tent). Fickle weather...
I also rode up to Jackrabbit. No hookups in any site...but beautiful natural settings, some on the lake as I recall.
I have never rented a tent, but it sounds like a great idea. I would be willing to contribute to the cost. Maybe several tables too. Of course, it all depends on the cost, but still, an idea. Anyone know what it costs to rent a tent? It wouldn't have to be a fancy one, just something over our heads.
