Unfortunately, Missy the Smooth Coat Collie, will not be holding court this year (her schedule would not allow it) so it will just be the 2 of us.

We are picking up our fresh roasted espresso beans today. Please stop by for a cup. We were hoping to make gelato also but that will have to wait for Spring.

I hope you're bringing a guitar. (Or two)

Are you holding that like a drumstick? Practice? I hope the drums fit in your new AS and TV!

Looking forward to the weekend!

Sue and I will be camping Thursday evening in Whispering Pines campground (about 5 miles east of Blue Ridge). That way I can go to work Friday morning (in Blue Ridge) and be back to the AS to hookup and get to Falluminum. Then, Monday we are moving to the North Chattanooga/Cleveland KOA for 2 nights so that on Tuesday I can attend a training class in Cleveland (KOA rather than back and forth from Ellijay). Wednesday morning, we will head back home.

The trip from Hiawassee to Cleveland will include some narrow parts of Route 64 along the Ocoee River . Here is an interesting screengrab from GoogleEarth for part of that route east of Ducktown TN. I also looked at the trip from Helen to Hiawassee .

Must cancel reservation for space 43

I am going to cancel our reservation for a beautiful space, space 43. Would anyone like to call just after I cancel?

Burt and I have looked forward to this week-end for many months. We are ready to go. But, I hurt my knee and had to have surgery last week, and am, I think, a bit slow in recovering.

We will miss being there, meeting new people and enjoying the cooler weather in the beautiful mountains. It is still 90' here every day.

We leave in the morning.

Wednesday morning cannot come soon enough - I will hook up in the morning - Tina is packing for colder weather now. We stop overnight at FDR State Park and arrive mid-day Thursday. Plenty of daylight to set up with. Last year we got there at night in the rain - NOT this year.......

Dinner in Helen Thursday night if anyone is there to go. Any place is fine with us.

Mike

Sugarfoot, TJ and I go that way every time we go to Hiawassee. It's not so bad on the River Road. Just watch out for the rocks on your right and the truckers on your left! Last spring, TJ and I had to cross Chilhowee Mtn because a coke truck had overturned on Hwy 64. Now that was a fun ride! Something that includes a knitting needle and a sledge hammer comes to mind!

I am so sorry you won't be able to join us. The leaves should be beautiful by this weekend. We are getting some rain now, but it's supposed to stop by this weekend. You'll have to look for the pictures next week so you won't completely miss out!

A bunch of us will be at the Can Opener in Destin, FL, in January. Maybe you will be moving well enough to join us there. I hope so!

Stop by when you get in. Big Daddy's in Helen is a fun hangout. bdhomepage We know the owners and the food is good. They usually have bands on the weekend.

If you have some time after the 10:00 smoozing, I'd appreciate some help. I have set mine up once without the sat finder and now that I have the sat finder I want to bring the dish for the boys so they won't get too bored.

Sorry to hear about your injury. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Maybe we'll see you in January at the Can Opener.

Looking Forward to Seeing Everyone

We're excited about Falluminum - looking forward to seeing everyone. The weather is going to be great! The yuppie campfire is ready for duty - come by and check it out - with 50ft. of flexible hose we can have a campfire almost anywhere we want.

Check out the thread for the Trailer Park Troubadours performance in December. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f288...tml#post469679
Danielle and I have ordered our tickets and we are planning to stay at the KOA. Sweetwater, TN is approximately 30 miles south of Knoxville.

Troubadours in Sweetwater

We might need to start a thread for this show & camping that weekend.

On Edit: That's been done http://www.airforums.com/forums/f288...-tn-37020.html

Blanche & I have reserved tickets.
Great location. Small theater with less than 150 seats.

Nearby there is a place to be considered:

We have visited the restaurant but did not camp at this location but it is unique.
The food is great and if you have to wait, play checkers next to the grist mill.
Great grits for sale.
Catch your own fish and they prepare & serve.

And now more changes; Silverhobby is now on 66 (formerly on 68) and my friend Doug is on 68 (formerly on 22). Didn't want to be so far away from the "HUB" of aluminum activities.

Clancyboy, my friends will be arriving on Thursday with me. Maybe we can have a meal out with you guys too. Don't forget the new AS flannel sheets.
