The menu has always worked itself out quite well. I believe it will again ....
Everyone can kinda bring what they are ok with. Cook your own main dish, and everyone share the sides and desserts, and beverages, of course wine and beer tasting for those who partake.
Saturday morning-
Mario's espresso and any other coffee, tea, cocoa, tastings, in the A.M. followed by a short get together at which I would like to collect any donations for a raffle.
Also to plan the tour...which I think this time will be ala VAC.. hang a small sign out, saying your rig is open to view inside--- say between 1 and 4? Not that whole time, but whenever you choose, if you have little ones who need to nap, or seniors that need the same ( does that mean me? maybe not....although I do like a little 4 pm power snooze).....I for one love the tour of homes.
We can also plan at that get togther ( say 10 am Saturday at or near my site) the timing for going over to the Shelter in the evening for our shared dinner. Rides for those who need , also help carrying stuff for those who need it, etc. Since there are tables and benches, that will eliminate some of that carrying, and some of us have music gear to drag over.

Does anyone have a flea market in mind? We have had some sales running on Sat. during the tour times, in the afternoon.

I am sure this will be another super fine weekend with lots of leaf color, and fine GA mountain air.

I concur on the menu - it has worked out each time I have attended a rally. Also, I now have a truck for a TV so I am happy to help transport "stuff" for folks over to the pavillion if needed.

If folks are interested, I'll plan on bringing the "movie theater" for Friday night.

Did I already ask this???
How bad is the mountain going from Helen to Hiawassee? Its about 20 miles shorter for us than going thru Ellijay and Young Harris.

There is a steep section as I recall between the Top of Georgia Airstream Park and Hiawassee, but nothing your Excursion can't handle. The main thing is that it is two lanes from Delonega through Hiawassee with the exception of a couple of passing lanes. Not bad towing; I've done it myself with my F-250, but you will be going through there during October Fest when Helen will be at its most crowded. If that doesn't concern you, then I think you should have no problems with the mountain.

There are some steep inclines and some hairpin turns. But nothing I couldn't handle with the Excursion and our 34'. It's actually a pretty ride; going through Helen is no problem as long as you're not rushing to get through. We may go back that way ourselves.

It's not a bad ride as far as the road conditions go, and a beautiful ride with the views - I recommend it. Your vehicle/trailer combo will not have an issue with the grade, I just slow down and let the others pass in the passing zones. Helen is a fun route, lots of lookers and photos taken when we went through with the Caravel last year. It was an indirect route we took as it would have been shorter to turn off to the west and go south. Just wanted to see it one more time as that is where we spent our honeymoon, many moons ago..... .

All registered -

We are in space #3. According to the ladies in the office at the park, the other spaces weren't as level as that one - and it is close to the bathroom for the kids.

Ok - I think I have this down. There is a movie Fri night. Sat: am getogether then pm tour of other campers. We bring something for the potluck dinner Sat.

I saw kid counts mentioned: I don't think my SD is making this one with us, so it will be 5 kids ages 16 - 9. On a side note, one of the kids will be having a birthday Sun (turning 13) so we would love to be able to get a cake to share with whoever would like some. My plan was to pick one up Sat sometime.

Did I forget anything?

We handcuff our 13 year old to the rear bumper - it seems to work out pretty well. Airstream doesn't recomnmend anything attached to the rear bumper, but you have to be open minded.

We'll plan on Friday Night Flicks - keep your ideas coming!
