Longest Yard Sale

Lucius and Danielle, how was the longest yard sale? Things have been hectic here at school and I haven't had the chance to get anywhere lately. Hopefully the temps will start dropping soon and we'll be on the road again!

Man I was just getting over the Tofu and Expresso thing and here comes the "Pink Tees". I can see me now with a plate of Tofu, sipping on an Expresso, wearing a pink tee. There goes my manly man. Remember what happens in Hawasse stays in Hawasse.

We have added an Airstreamin' couple from Johnson City,TN in site #1
I am considering making my trailer curtains pink. (NOT!)

I had a tee shirt on that said Old Navy on it, one day when I was at the mall. An older fella came up and said "he was also". He then wanted to know where I was stationed!

Yardsale Was Good! Can't Wait for Falluminum

We enjoyed the yardsale again this year. We stayed at TCPC, an Airstream only park, in Crossville, TN. Sugarfoot was there too! We had soybean nugget sandwiches (tastes like chicken) with Sugarfoot and her mother. We had a good time in and around Crossville - The Cumberland Jamboree was fun, the Homesteader Museum was very interesting and the yardsale was a hoot!

Now we're looking forward to Bobby Brown State Park for Labor Day, F.D. Roosevelt State Park for the weekend of September 8th then it's almost 7 weeks until Falluminum. I don't know if we can we can go that long without camping.

We look forward to seeing everyone at Hiawassee and we'll have our Yukon Legend propane campfire going to take the chill off in the morning (thanks Spartan).

Dawgfan - I hope you're bringing your propane campfire too. If Spartan shows up with theirs it'll be a movement. Yuppie campfires rule!

FDR is a great place...you all enjoy yourselves there.
We have not been able to camp since July 7. Too much going on.

If you arrive at FDR near sunset, look out for deer. The third week we had ours a deer tried to run between my truck and the Airstream. Not a pretty picture. Involved the insurance company, a trip to JC to drop it off, and a trip back to JC to pick it up after the repairs. Made me sick. The deer ran into us less than 500 feet from the turn-off on Hwy. 85 to go to the entrance to the park. It was about 9:00 Father's Day weekend in '06.

OK, you Pickens County Camper people. This holiday weekend I've been all over the back roads of the upper western edge of South Carolina and the upper eastern edge of Georgia. Not once did I see a cool vintage camper in that neck of the woods, under kudzu or otherwise. I think you guys locate them, mark them on your GPS for future reference, then camouflage them so the rest of us poor suckers are unaware.

I did see a Royal Mansion in the side yard of a farm on GA 98 on the way back near . . . NOPE, not gonna tell ya!

Its amazing I can drive the same road 5 to 10 times...and then you see it, been there the whole time...just hadn't noticed. Scott had the Spartanette up at Farm Days....a vintage farm world for 3 days over Labor Day. Every kind of tractor, truck, steam engine....hit an miss engine you could imagine. Several times a day the "parade or power" takes place when everyone climbs on a tractor and circles the 100 or so campers then everything parks again for awhile. I went up for a day, but had promised help with the Shasta. She's coming along. You'll have to wait until Fallaluminum to see the inside.

Anyway theres a warm glow coming around. Tried to add a pic on SE old trailer but couldnt get it to work.

Heard a tale of a 46 Aero float.....will be following up on it too!

Ok, I'm home with my new to me Airstream. It's a 1980 Excella II, 31' long. Picked it up in Fletcher, NC and stayed at Maggie Valley this weekend. Beautiful area!

Saturday Evening Potluck?

I just waded through all the pages back to the beginning. Nowhere can I find lists of Potluck offerings, or Raffle Prize donations. Hmmm. Some individual posts, but no lists.

Maybe it's too late in the evening and I look at the screen like I listen to my wife. Just kidding... What did you say dear?

Potluck:
Zucchini bread - Phil and/or Sue

Raffle Prizes:
Party light string.

See you in October!

By the way, see many of y'all in January at the 2008 CanOpener too! http://www.airforums.com/forums/f288...lly-35478.html
