Hi Group, Friends of mine are bringing their AS to this rally. Site # 70 is Jim and Midge. Please make them feel welcome. Also, have another possibility of a friend with a small Frolic trailer attending. (still on the fence)

We didn't make the map. We are at 54.
Ramp> This is our first rally as well. Should be interesting and fun.

~~~~~~~NOTICE~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was checking on sites available today. The lady at Georgia Mtn Fair said 82 was now available. The is the one Mario and Kelly were on. Just wanted to make sure that was Cold Espresso's decision and not the GMF's mistake.
What's The Big Deal ?
Hi Group, We have had almost 1000 more views to this thread than the Can Opener '08. But we are lagging behind in comments. This Rally is happening in only 4 weeks. To say I am excited and ready is an understatement.
Well that just shows we are a visual group who aren't real chatty!!
This is going to be another fun one! Reminders- please if you can bring a raffle item, it does not have to be new, or even Airstream/RV related..just something we can offer as a small prize. Makes the evening event even more fun. Maybe if you bake you can offer a baked item, or homemade wine...just as a suggestion.
Also-
Think about any issues you might need help with, and those questions you need answers to. We always are there to help! I got a great lesson on weight distributing hitches at one of these events.
Lastly, we have the shared meal Saturday at 6, and encourage everyone to bring something to share but if ya can't...its ok. Just bring an appetite.
Is there a thread for us rally newbies to tell us what to expect and those all important things we should know (like bring a dish to the potluck)? I did a search but came up empty.
aturner4u, Glad you will be attending Falluminim in October. We tend to keep "lumping" anything and everything into this thread. Most everyone brings a dish or two to the potluck. We had an abundance of food last year. This group sure likes to eat, socialize, talk about their trailers/motorhomes, and listen to and play music. If you have an instrument, bring it along.
EXPECT to have a great time, meet lots of great people, and go home wishing the rally was going to happen again the following weekend.
(2010 Fall Rally will grow into a week long celebration)
(just a guess)
A few things I can think of:
Extra Leveling Blocks (some sites are less than level)
Water Hose
Electric cord
For new rally goers, everything Silverhobby said. Something for the Saturday potluck, whatever you like, anything will be happily accepted. The main thing is to have fun. There is no real schedule for our forum rallies. Saturday afternoon is usually the designated time for everyone to tour each other's Airstreams, Spartans, Shastas, Canned Hams, or other cool RVs as you so desire. But this group truly has no expectations of each other. Everyone does as they please, has fun, and just camps. It just so happens there are several dozen others with similar rigs at the same campground camping with you. Laid back and the living is good.
Here is a map update. Adding Silveryhobby's friend Doug, and Bugler from the Southeast RV forums.
Now, I'm headed back out to Harrison Bay State Park, near Chattanoga,Tennessee for camping until Sunday afternoon. I just came back in town to get my dog. I need to decompress in my aluminum escape pod.
Anyone wanting to come in for the weekend is welcome to join in the relaxation on the lake in Campground C. Unfortunately, they don't take reservations, first come ~ first served.
About a month ago we moved from #78 to #81. I don't know if #78 is available or since taken.
For newbies, the time goes by incredibly fast. Bring boats if you've got'm - great place for canoes/kayaks - even motor boats. Last year we had a couple of guys with Feathercraft's - if Airstream made boats, that's what they'd look like.
If you play musical instruments, bring'm on! I'll bring drums, others will bring guitars. A fiddle'd be nice - maybe a horn section...
And like Alan mentions, bring an appetite. I haven't been to one of these where there wasn't a collection of tremendous food.
We'll try and set up the drive in (walk up) movie for Friday night. Like you wouldn't anyway, folding chairs a must.
I am off for the next few months after finishing two years of deployment. We are hoping to make this rally, but it seems that most the interior spaces are filled up. Not being too picky, but with an active three year old we wanted to be in an area where there are plenty of other people that may catch him if he unforseeably gets out of our site.
If someone cancels from the interior area, can someone let us know please.
Thanks,
Steve
