Just a few reminders for all-

Some of us will be going to the Three Dog Night Concert at the music hall Saturday night. Tickets are online at the Georgia Mountain Fair site.

Please bring a dish to share for the Saturday brunch at (10 am), and the dinner at 5:30 PM. This can be anything you like and can have enough to share... We are very casual and have always had a great spread with no prior sign up for this and that.

If you would like to be involved in the raffle at Saturday dinner, pls bring an item to raffle off. New or used; whatever you think would be useful and/or fun.
To make it fair only those that bring something will get a ticket to get something in return. The past few times this has been terrific and the response is always great.

That's a hint. *** You know who you are. ***
. . . Oh, were you talking to me?

You know what I've said about the bread pudding, Can Opener only. But I'm sure I'll have something!

It's not that the Can Opener is any more deserving than Falluminum. It's because, to do it right, it's a time-consuming on-site food prep that I'm only willing to do once a year. It just happened that the annual baking of the bread pudding happened during the first Can Opener.

The Falluminum is such a great rally, I don't want to spend 3 hours of Saturday afternoon in the kitchen.

Well, Sugarfoot's bread pudding includes alcohol which just seems more tropical than Autumn like. On the other hand it is super delicious enough to have any time of the year.

TICKETS ARE NOT YET ON SALE ACCORDING TO THE WEB SITE...THEY GO ON 9/11
Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds: Hiawassee, Georgia: Country Music Capital of Georgia

I am wanting to go, I really like them. Remember them on Dick Clark's rockin' New Years Eve many times.

Thanks for all the positive pudding feedback. You can find the recipe at this old Can Opener thread post.

Assembly and freezing prior to a rally may be an option but I don't trust it to taste as fresh or turn out as well. I time the sauce to finish at the end of the baking and transport all to the pot luck site hot right out of the oven.

Well Dacia,

Hate we won't be able to make Falluminum this year. But you could come to the Fall Vintage Rally in Walland on the 11th - 13th and try it our on us. We won't mind being your Guinea Pigs.....

Hi Dacia,

I love the recipe for the bread pudding but I hope you don't mind, I had to make a little change...as I can't leave anything alone.
I micro'd the raisins in Jack Daniels instead of water till boiling and raisins were plump (and drunk), then dumped the drunk raisins and Daniels liquid in the pudding...mmmmmm, good ...

Now see, there is the difference........ A good woman would be more than willing to spend 3 hours or more in the kitchen for a good meal or in this case a dessert. Modern women, need to learn that their place is in the kitchen.

With that - I'll add that I will be in the Persian Gulf this October where I feel I will be safe from harm rather than in North GA for the rally after that last comment. Have fun ya'll

Mike
