Wow! We have been camping there for 12 years or so and never had any problems. I am so sorry this is what you encountered and hope it doesn't stop you from attending rallies, even if you do choose not to come back to ours.
Everyone tag site A21 and not reserve it!

I hate that happened to you . But they are very laid back and uninvolved in many ways there.
In spite of that we have had over 20 successful get togethers with no problems.

Seriously, sorry you had those last minute issues. I too had issues just as we were about to hitch up...but alas, by 4 hours later, I had them resolved. I do commend you for getting into A37 ALONE in the middle of the night. With the hump going in causing serious lack of visibilty, it would not have been an easy task even in the daylight. Hats off to you!

Hey, even time travelers have bad days I guess.
Yeah, A-37 was fun at midnight. All part of the excitement and challenge of livin' out in nature. I just hope I didn't wake up too many of the natives.
Maybe I have the beginnings of some bragging rights??

Too bad some folks had issues. I think generally their laid back, uninvolved approach probably works more for us than against us, but recognize that when you are the recipient that that doesn't much matter.

This was my fourth stay at the campground involving numerous calls and visits to the office. Have always been treated country friendly, not city sharp. If it isn't an emergency, don't expect country folk to jUmp around like city people. I'm not referring to anyone in particular. Just AS campers and N Ga folks in general. Sometimes dwelling on a situation only makes it worse. As the Great Spirit told me once, take a step back and BE COOL! Here's hoping all who attended will come back for another event. I'm sure all are welcome. Peace, jim

Pretty much my thoughts as well. I'm surprised there were problems and even more surprised at how they weren't handled very well given my past experiences. (Last April, they retrieved and mailed my video camera power cord promptly at their own expense when I called back to inquire about it.)
Makes me wonder if management has changed.
Big thanks to Alan and Shannon who continue to "raise the flag" for everyone to rally around, special thanks to Lucious and Danielle for their entertainment arrangements, and continued thanks to Brad for bringing and sharing his drum kit (from which we all benefit). Thanks to everyone for coming and being so nice.
Kids had a blast with the other "youth" present. (Hopefully they stayed out of trouble around the campground....I think they did but you never know....)
Look forward to Springstream, which will be here before we know it!

Ron,
Your kids are wonderful! You can be proud!
As are Katie & Rob's and Lynette and Brian's.
We always enjoy seeing them.

Chuck was very upset with what happened, and felt like management was over the top rude to him. I apologized and reiterated that in many years I have not had a negative comment from anyone regarding the campground.
Hope to see many of you back in April.

We had a "first" on the way home. Had a doe jump out of the woods and almost into the road! I swerved, she stopped then turned and went back into the woods. I guess the shininess of the trailer got her attention. Tinley didn't know anything until I swerved!
Thankfully all was well, just a little wet in the britches is all.

What a week-end!
A big thank you to everyone for a fantastic Falluminum in beautiful North Georgia. The perfect weather, the delicious food, the fabulous fire (courtesy of Thor), the great people and the wonderful entertainment from the Kaes family, the Not a Band band and Antsy and Grantsy all combined for a memorable week-end.

Good thing about getting old is the memory loss. I really have a tough time remembering faces and names, so each year at the rally I meet each of you for the first time! Jim

Alan, would love to attend but these dates don't work, sorry. Keep us posted though!
Also on the calendar: For those with limited medical coverage, we will be operating a full trauma center at heavily discounted prices in our front yard Friday night. We will have somewhat trained medical staff and reasonably sharp surgical instruments.

Just for precautionary measures, I've decided to have my appendix and Gaul bladder removed so I don't have to worry about any attacks on the road while traveling. Do you accept medicare, if not what are the rates? Jim

Altitude Adjustment
Well the 4.7 liter V8 usually does well when pulling down near the coast. Unfortunately I live in the mountains where it seems like I am always going up hill. This last trip from Asheville seemed to take a little longer than Google maps suggested. We made it up every climb slowly and did our best to do the same going down. I did choose to take a lunch break on the way down one of the extra long descents. Brakes were not overheated yet but were warmer than I like to feel under my feet. Out of curiosity I thought I would look up some data.
I think this may explain why it felt like an up and down trip.
Start altitude: 2392 feet
End altitude: 1967 feet
Maximum altitude: 3830 feet
Minimum altitude: 1921 feet
Distance: 117.2 miles
Total ascent: 10713 feet
Total descent: 11138 feet
This was just getting there. Of course we came the same way back.
I think I may plug into this before the trip next time.
Check out the link here:
Google Maps elevation for a route
Had a great time and made it home safe and sound. We are fortunate to have a true tow package with oversize radiator, additional tran and oil cooler as well as oversize brakes. I do think we may start looking at savings some pennies for the day when we can go just a little bigger.
You know the old saying, Go big of stay home. Sure don't want to stay home.
Thanks to all who helped plan the event.

Falluminum
This was the best rally yet. Chuck, Murphy and Linda had a wonderful time and love seeing how the kids are growing up. Thank you Allan, Shannon, Lucius and Danielle as well as Antsy. What a treat. See you in the Spring.
