We will do our best to "buddy rally" with you. Maybe set up the wi-fi and show you the fabulous scenery from the left coast.

We are still low probability attendees, what with fall school events and all, but we are booked for A36. If we do come, we'll bring the Cauldron of Death.

I can't imagine no spots in A. Maybe you need to mention the Airstream group. They are supposed to be holding 30 spots for us.
I will call there and ask.

Stupid question, maybe, but why is it section A only? We were there for Springstream 2009 and it seemed to me that sites in B along the lake were the primo spots to have. I recall section A being more up-on-the-hill and in the trees. Not that that's bad, but when you're next to such a beautiful lake with lakeside spots...I'm goin' with the water.

Is B already group-reserved for someone else? Is it tradition that Springstream is in B & others and Falluminum is in A? Please enlighten...I'm still planning on being at falluminum but I haven't reserved yet in case other emergencies come up for my vacation days before then.

Our apologies, when my wife called, she didn't mention the Airstream group and section A is reserved because of us. Sorry for the false alarm. When she called back, we booked in A-24. We always try to get a short spot to save the larger spots for those who need them.

Hopefully, I can spiff up the trailer by then and get over to help A-Merry-Can with the polishing with never finished on his....not unlike many other projects around my place....

I also hope to have an interesting tow vehicle finished by then.

Thanks, G

Section B is the most desireable being right by the lake, therefore with this being dead in the middle of peak leaf season that section books first to previous reason and Fall festivals up there near or at the same time. There may have previously been a few spots but not where the group can camp together.

Section A has beautiful views in the Fall being up on a large hill. It overlooks the lake and mountains and it right by the trail to the Rhododendron gardens...not in bloom then but still a nice place to walk through. Being on the hill, it gives us a chance to walk off a little extra pounds before packing it back on at Thanksgiving and Christmas. There really isn't many bad spots in that camp ground although there are a few really odd ones that require 50 foot of water hose or 50 foot of electric to hook up...as a friend of mine use to say "I heard it from somebody who knows".

We camped at this capground 4 times last year and th bottom line is both sections are nice!

My rare .02 worth, G

Redneck???

My first impression is..."what kind of redneck is this guy"? He probably has a barn in his yard too. Didn't I read somewhere that he had old boats, cars and motorcycles too. And I hope you don't call that trailer directly behind the tractor polished...looks like it needs some more rubbing on it to me. Jeez, I can't imagine having all that stuff in my yard to worry about. Some people....

I'm through with my rant, G

Ouch! Ha! I'm hoping to bring the tractor, so I can provide hay rode taxi service up the hill! I'm still debating on whether I should ask permission, or just do it?

Yes the B sites were mostly gone as of last January!! Prime leaf season books up very early. We were lucky they offered to hold A for us. And only 30 sites.

I just called and reserved site C10. I don't mean to be a separatist, but I really like being on the water and the kids do, too. The water is kinda like a free babysitter. We reserved for Oct 21-23 so we'll get in the afternoon of the 21st and depart Sun AM the 24th.

In case anyone else is interested, the person I talked to said that C1 and C2 are still available on the lake, but that's it for lakeside sites.

I recall from this year's Springstream discussion that the "river road" was closed to repair from massive rain / flooding over the winter. Can anyone confirm that this will be open by Falluminum? The trailer and tow vehicle are better off this year than when we were there in Spring 2009, but I'm still not excited about heading over the mountain through the winding, twists narrow two-laner that we did last time! When we left, we took the river road and it was a much nicer drive, I though.

If by the river road you mean US64, It's open now. I'm talking about the rockslide along the Ocoee River.
