At any rate the cool weather this weekend could make the foliage pop with colors next weekend.

Here's the updated list of who's coming.

16 Susan & Greg greghoro
32 Mark and Brian Briboy
35 Cale and Amy let's play
37 Ted and Lori Till
38 Ken and Marie knunut
39 Mike and Dana Airtandem
43 Al and Sue Irishrider
44 Tom and Sue Tom Nugler
46 Dyanna and Michael Silverslipper
47 Robert and Becky Robert Claus
48 Bill and Penny featherbedder
49 Bruce and Lauren
50 Mike and Lynn mayco

There may be a few non Airstream trailers coming in as well. Reserve America is not taking reservations past Oct 1 but last time I checked there were 4 sites left in the loop and more close by.
Anyone still thinking about dropping in should be able to find a place to set up for an overnight stay. Or if you want just come by and say HI.
Cale. We like the trailer tour meet and greet idea for Friday.
We'll be out Thursday morning and leaving Monday afternoon.

See you all soon,
Tom
Thank you all for welcoming Mark & I into your group! It was great to meet you all. We had a lot of fun. And especially nice to see Dyanna and Michael again! We hope to see you all in the spring!

Hope everyone has arrived safely at home or their next destination.
We got in yesterday afternoon, emptied the fridge and recovered the rest of the night.
Just finished unloading the last of the food, drinks, dirty clothes, pots and pans from the trailer and parking her back on the pad before a band of heavy rain came through.
Thanks to everyone for coming, pitching in, and making this Rally a success. I realize I was somewhat useless at times but am feeling a little better after getting up and getting some work done.
In our haste to get out Wednesday we left the camera at home. It's up to you to post pictures. I know you've got some good ones.
I'll post a Rally Recap and Spring Rally info when I can focus more clearly, (I've been doing this for the last 25 minutes)

There was a lot of aluminum there! The trailer tours on Saturday afternoon were a great way to meet everyone else, and Oktoberfest was delightful!

Great Rally and a big thanks to the whole group making our first experience at Lowden State Park a huge success. Lots of trailers new and old, even a motorhome! We will be sure to reserve early for the spring rally as I feel this will become a popular event!

This rally exceeded our expectations! Michael & I have never attended a rally before and as newbies had no idea of what to expect. The site was ideal, each Airstream was unique in its own way, however the people were absolutely the BEST! I never laughed so hard (or knitted so hard - thanks Dana! lol).
I did snap some photos but the camera is still in the Airstream. I'll unpack it tomorrow after work and upload the photos!
Once again ... thank you to all that made this such a wunderbar event!

we also had Reese and Dave in that GREAT LOOKING RED ARGOSY. It turned lots of heads.
As stated, this was the biggest and best rally we have had so far. The location was a big draw.
We went through almost a cord of wood. With the cold, we had to have "something" to keep us warm.
See everyone and hope more in the spring; thanks again to all that was there.

Fall Rally Recap

We've launched the first Northern Illinois Fall Rally away from Pecatonica, and we have lift-off!
Despite the weather being about 10 degrees cooler than the average there were 16 Units attending. From Bambis to Motor-homes, Vintage to Modern we represented the wide selection of offerings from Airstream Inc. I think the park took notice.

Arriving Wednesday night we found Mark and Brian, who didn't know about the gathering, parked close by. They decided to stay the weekend and join in. As the rest of the group filtered in over the next few days we started exploring our new environs. Oregon has an interesting variety of shops and attractions. I'll need to do more exploring in the Spring. Down by the Rock River the Colors hadn't peaked yet but it was still nice to be out by the water.
We kept the fire going all weekend, catching up with our old friends travel stories and meeting the new Airstreamers who attended.
Saturday was the big event starting with the trailer tours. Word had gotten out that we would be having an open house of sorts that afternoon. There were a number of non-Airstreamers who joined the walking tour and got their first look inside the iconic Silver Twinkies.
Saturday night the tables were set up, background music began playing and the food came out. I've been to plenty of Oktoberfests and there has never been as wide an array of entrees and desserts to choose from.
Alles gutem Essen und Trinken. Ausgezeichnet.
Sunday most of the gang began packing up to move on. Before leaving we decided to return to Lowden for our Spring Gathering the weekend after Mothers Day, May 15th, 16th and 17th. I'll post more info in the coming months.

Thanks to everyone who attended and made the Rally in our new location a big success. Thanks for posting you photos as well. Sue and I hope to see everyone again in the Spring, if not sooner. Safe travels to those heading down south for the winter and we'll see you down the road.

Tom and Sue

If what Tom said is any indication, make your reservations early. Check Reserve America to see the available sites. We are looking at the same area that we just had.
Think Spring.
Excellent pictures.
There was a black folding camp chair left; I have it and will bring in the spring. Just let me know whose it is.

Here's one with the little river boat in it, apparently it's docked at a resort that has closed across the river from the Blackhawk statue

The black chair is ours, thanks for grabbing it for us, Mike. Leaving so early Monday morning didn't work quite as well as we thought.

Looks like a great time and wonderful fall colors. I second the nomination for starting to think about spring. Danielle and I joined you for the spring rally back in 2013 (I think) and we may be able to meet up again in 2015.

I'll keep an eye on this thread for an announcement and look for a new thread with all the details.

Thanks. Happy New Year!
