Fall 2018 Rally at Osage Beach MO

Whew!!! A big Thank you to Jane and Jim for kicking off the 2018 Air Midwest Rally! A tadbit windy, but some of the conversations around the campers added to that wind! You guys did great on getting everything together and we believe the catering was a big hit - more time to socialize!
So - after popping Pepcid all Saturday night(after being cohersed into hosting the fall rally), we took the bull by the horns and stopped by Osage Beach Rv Park - Lake of the Ozarks on our way home.
The office personel were nothing but cheeerful and very helpful as we explained what was bestowed upon us!
For club reservation we have free access to their Club Room 520 sq ft. Inside seating of approximately 36-40 people with 2 microwaves, refrigerator, tv. No grills, skillets etc.
The Pavillion 1,200 sq ft has at least 8 - 10-foot very large picnic tables, lots of lights and plug ins.
The Barbeque Patio is the concrete pad between the Club Room and Pavillion if somebody wanted to grill, or where hop scotch or jacks can be played!
After consulting their calender, we have set the fall rally date of Sept 27 - 30. So Nikki and Joe, you will be in the middle of MU country, but your playing Kansas so you might be okay! The sites are full hook up. Let them know if you need 50 amp.
20% off their regular rate of $40, so $32 per night and they will honor that rate three days in advance and three days after the rally.
Best news - no charge for pets or kids!
So get your reservations in now! 573-348-3445 make sure you tell them your with the Air Midwest Rally. Their website is www.osagebeachrvpark.net for more detailed information -site map, cancellation info.
We will be Streaming at the Lake; Sept 27-30, 2018
We will send reminders and things to do as we get input !
See Ya Down the Road!
Coleen and Nancy, Daisy too

super start!

Nancy & Coleen,
You have made a great start toward our next AirMidwest Rally! Disadvantages we encountered with our selection of Big Elk in Pineville are overcome. Thanks for jumping in quickly. Osage Beach RV Park should appeal to more of our
Air Forums members.

Please encourage those coming in from Facebook to register with Air Forums using the calendar you have set up for the event.

Jim & Jane

We are thinking about taking a road trip, 45 min, to Jefferson City on Friday if there is enough interest. We would be going to the old Missouri State Penitentiary at 1pm for a 2 hour tour. See www.missouripentours.com for more information. Cost would be $15 a person.
Also thinking about a boat ride on the Lake of the Ozarks Saturday at lunch. This would be a 1 1/2 hour tour with lunch for $25. See www.tropicislandcruises.com for more information.
Both of these need a certain number of people to attend. As time gets closer to the rally we'll do a count.
If anyone has other ideas please feel free to post.
Along with Airforums we will also post stuff on Facebook, Air Midwest Rallies.

Just around the corner!!!

Good afternoon Folks! Are you ready for a fun intimate rally - it will be so good to catch up with everybody and hear some great stories and share some refreshing drink!

It appears we will not have 40 people to do the private boat/lunch tour however - when we get together we will see who wants to do the boat ride on Friday.

For the prison tour we need to know by this Friday how many wish to particiapte, we have to let our guide know if we don't have enough for a private tour so they can open it open to the public.

Then for the meal, we need a minium of 20 paticipants at $13.00 for a nice catered meal with the choice of two differents meats. If this is not the direction folks want to go then we will do a potluck for supper.

Please PM us or respond here!

We're potluck people, but won't "stir the pot" if the group wants to be catered (2 tickets then, please). Not really interested in boat rides or the prison tour.

Hi!!!

Just made our reservations! We will be there Thursday - Sunday. Sorry for the delay. Carol and I are looking forward to seeing everyone!!!
We are interested in the Prison Tour, but will pass on any boat rides.
If we do the catered meal, we will need a Vegetarian option.

Air Midwest Airstream Fall Rally Agenda

Hope everybody is doing well and making it thru their adventures safely! We are at 14 campers for the rally – there are still a few sites close by so it’s not too late to register!
Here is the agenda for the Air Midwest Airstream Fall Rally
Wednesday- Mingle at campsites with your refreshments in hand after everybody has settled in and had their supper!
Thursday –7 p.m. Supper on your own, then meet and greet at the pavilion. We will have cupcakes and ice cream!
Friday – 6 p.m. Appetizer potluck! Please bring your appetizer of choice to share and show off! Also bring your plates, utensils and your beverage of choice!
Saturday – 9:30 a.m. Stop by our campsite with your coffee and enjoy a doughnut before the open house!
10:00 to 12 a.m. Open House campers! Please put a sign (it was in your welcome packet) up on your door or window if you want to participate in the open house. This is a great time to show off your creative minds and ingenious things you have done to your haven!
Saturday – 6 p.m. Potluck supper (Could not get a good count to guarantee at least 20 for catering) we will supply choice of sliced turkey or ham, buns, mustard and mayo. Please bring a side dish or salad or fruit or dessert. Also bring your dinner plates, utensils and your beverage of choice.
After supper we will have the rally prize drawing – we have a few rally prizes, but welcome more so every camper can receive a prize.
Other campground activities - Weather permitting we will have ladder ball and washers set up at the pavilion court yard area. If weather turns on us we will have bingo!
Also weather permitting we plan on campfires, so those that can tell stories or are very musically inclined, can entertain the rest of us that only dream that we could tell a tall tale or carry a beat!
For those of you that are crafty – why not bring them along and see if others are interested in purchasing them? If you know someone that is crafty or an artist and want to share their info with others that would be fun too!
Other activities nearby – As we did not have enough to meet the minimum count for the boat or prison tours… For folks that want to do the boat ride on their own, there are others but here was the one we had looked at: Tropicislandcruises.com go out 3-4:30 p.m. Friday/Saturday.
We also recommend the Missouri Penitentiary tour (45 min drive to Jeff City), not something you get to experience just anywhere! Anyone still interested; you can do your reservation on line and attend on your own or carpool with others from the rally – your tour will just be with other non-rally people. Reservations are strongly suggested! Right now there are openings for Friday at 10 a.m., 1 and 6 p.m. Saturday at 9 a.m. Sunday 1 and 3:30 p.m. Go to missouripentours.com
Close to the campgrounds are two grocery stores: Hy-Vee and Dierbergs. Target and several outlet stores along with some really good restaurants all within a few miles. Great state parks: Lake of the Ozarks State Park, HA HA Tonka State Park and Wilmore Lodge. Wineries and distillery tours too!

Hi - Thanks for asking - I missed your post when I put out the agenda earlier….Air Midwest is a group of folks that just like to get together, share adventures and share their knowledge and ingenuity. There are no fees for this group. Please take a look at the agenda and call in for campsite! Its a public camp ground so there are other campers besides Airstreams, we've had other brands join us before and its all good! We will have an open house on Saturday for folks that want to open up their camper. Get your baby ready and join us for some fun!

Macs,
If it weren't for bad luck you'd have no luck at all! You were our hero for the spring rally with the Airstream cooler for the top prize. We wish you a speedy recovery from an awful accident.
