We're okay with the private campground but put us in the $29/night site.

Otherwise, I'm willing to go with Wilderness and take my chances on the morning of January 31 that I can make a reservation for July 31.

a few pics of Wilderness on the beach.

I'd say the difference between them is Mackinaw campground has all the campground amenities and Wilderness is rustic in a natural setting.

There will be a full moon on Aug 1. Watching the moon come up over the lake is a memorable experience.

Count us in too

We have been lurking here hoping to be able to come. Thanks so much for all your efforts; we are all fortunate that Airstreamers are easy going and ready to adapt as the plan gets better and better. COUNT US IN. 25', PREFER THE $29, ARRIVE 1 AUGUST TIL 4TH. We are able to arrive earlier if you need any help with any arrangements. Looking forward to everything.

Lunch and Flash Light

Keep in mind that the Wilderness State Park is 11 miles from Mackinaw City. (Need a flashlight and lunch to make the trip) We always try to stay at Mill Creek Campground when in Mackinaw. Last time was in '07. Tried to stay there two years ago, but they were booked with a large rally. Ended up at the KOA. My home place was two miles south in "Freedom" so all this brings back memories. Wish we could be with you. Enjoy..

I think that DieselBreath makes a very good point about the fact that Wildeness SP is 11 miles from Mackinaw. We vote for the private campground on a $29 site. Looking forward to it all. Thanks for all the effort you both are putting into this.

We have Missouri, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Virginia, Georgia and Alabama so far. If DieselBreath could make a run up from Texas we'd be all set! And Kingfisher (full-timer) we're going to say you came in from California.

By my count, twobikes makes 15 and TouringDan makes 16. Looking good. Don't forget to sign up on the rally calendar. Airstream Forums - Exploring Under the Bridge Rally, MI
