WOW! We had a great time - thanks to all who put this rally together and to everyone that participated. The boat rides, pot-luck, pancakes... It was all good.

We're on our way to Iron Mountain for a Habitat for Humanity project. Here's a few pictures of Lake Michigan near Manistique.

We had a great time. Thanks for showing us Michigan.

I just my 703 mile marathon run home and heated up some potluck leftovers that Nancy had saved me.

Sorry I couldn't make the potluck. It was my only opportunity to go out salmon fishing and it was a tough decision, but "once in a lifetime" won out.

It was a great rally. Actually, it would have been a great rally if we had simply camped in Mackinaw City. Really, it was a phenomenal rally and that's because we had something special. We had Captain Adam and his boat.

Just one look at the pictures and it's clear that the highlight of the rally was the opportunity to go out on the boat. All the faces were smiles an that's what pushed the rally into one we'll never forget.

So from all of us, thank you Adam. It wouldn't have been the same without you.

This was also our first rally... wow!! Great friends made, great weather, great camp grounds, and as always -pure Mich. We picked a few fossils along Lake Mich., enjoyed the fantastic ride through the 'tunnels of trees',ran into a fun 'farmers market' in Harbor Springs and enjoyed the 'art' festival' in Petosky. Got over the bridge on Friday made the trip to Letho's with crossed fingers-YES!!! it was still there and now being ran by a different family member, hence the reason we couldn't get through on the phone. The new owners sons were making the pasties now and the owner was groaning with a smile, saying the price was still the same but the guys hands were bigger so the pasties were 25% larger. ha-ha. We drove west on '2' for a while then walked in to the beach for lunch. The one lone gull seemed so hungry that he landed within 6 ft of us. Tossed him a crumb and within 2 minutes we had 18 of the scroungers begging... again ... 'pure..well... greed!
It was great to spend time with like minded alumaholics, some from as far away as past our north border. Our first rally and it was an international affair!!!
Kelly thank you so much, and every one else also, for making it a success and a good appetizer for what we can expect to follow.

The Silver Pearl pulled into home port today about 6:00 pm. Many thanks to Kelly, Steve , and the rest of the organizers.

We have a truck load of GREAT prizes! Dawn won the plane ticket, and I won the crossbow! This was better than Christmas morning!!! Plus, I came home with two of Ed's knives. Jackpot!

Pics to follow soon.

This rally really fit my slogan: "Come for the Airstreams, stay for the freindships".

I just wanted to thank everyone for all of the kind words, great stories and a memorable weekend. It was a real joy to have the chance to take everyone out on the boat and get to meet such a great group of people. I really had an unforgettable weekend and look forward to the possibility of doing it again sometime!

Safe travels!

What a difference a day makes!

So last night about this time we were having fresh lake trout for supper and enjoying the view of Lake Michigan.

Tonight we're just north of Kalamazoo at Hidden Ridge RV Resort. We just had pizza from Uccellos Ristorante while enjoying a view of big trees and big motor coaches.

Hidden Ridge RV Resort is a very nice place and the pizza was delicious. However, it just wasn't the same without being surrounded by friends and that part of "Pure Michigan" by the Lake.

Ed R is right. Saying good-bye is the saddest part of the rally. Hope to see you all again down the road before too many of those beautiful sunsets over Lake Michigan pass.

Laird and Nancy

Kids

A couple people asked what we did to occupy the kids' time. I'm not one to constantly have a camera snapping away, but I did get a few. Everything below was from our trip on Friday to Sault St Marie and Tahquanemon (sp?) Falls. On Saturday, we did a driving tour around the Little Traverse Bay (Petosky & surrounding). The highlight of Parker's trip was by far the receipt of "Jumpy" (the stuffed fish) from Pat at the raffle. And Mason's was a ride on the fire truck. So I guess in the end we really didn't need to ever leave the campground

We arrived home last night, safe and sound... We talked about our trip 'up' to Mackinaw all the way through the UP, then the rest of the trip all of the way home

Hope everyone else has/had safe travels. The Rally was great There was so much to see, but not enough time to see and do them! We enjoyed meeting everyone, and had a blast!

Ed, great pictures and good luck with your Dutch Ovens!

Adam, thanks for offering your boat and enthusiasm. May you continue to have fair winds.

Kelly, a big Thank You for all you did to set this Rally up, you did a great job

Drew and Carol
