WOW! That is the biggest fishing boat I've ever seen, here around town I've seen only "bass boats".

Can you put out like 27 lines at a time? I'm trying to count, but I'm sure there are some rod holders I can't see - definitely has earned the name "The Rodfather."

Kelly (Mellen60) is currently on an Airstream Road Trip and cut off from civilization. All of the sites that she pre-reserved have been taken so you'll need to call the campground directly and talk to Sandy. 231-436-5584. Be sure to tell her you're with the Airstream group.

There should be spaces remaining. Once you've made your reservation, be sure you RSVP on the Rally Calendar: Airstream Forums - Exploring Under the Bridge Rally, MI

Kelly went on a camping trip to the Upper Peninsula and sent back a treasure trove of pictures for us. The campground looks pretty nice.

I'd love to come but can't get free from work. Mill Creek is a nice campground and we did use them a few years ago for a rally. Quite honestly with the reservation system the way it is with the state parks, trying to get a group together in a public park is getting pretty difficult. I know that our Moraine View campout will probably never have the attendance that we used to see when I could call the local park office to hold sites for us. It's hard to get that kind of turn out 40+ that we used to see when you have to commit almost 6 months before the event itself.

There are still spots available and we'd love to have you join up. You've got the dates right. To make your reservation, call Sandy at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping (231) 436-5584 and she'll get you set up.

We've got a group bonfire planned for three nights. I told Sandy to bring however much wood she normally brings and then to double that amount so we might be "close" to what we "need."

If you have the time, go back and start reading all the posts from page one...then you'll get to know everybody. Most of us have not camped together so this will be a real meet and greet friendly rally. We'll have a potluck one or two nights and now that we have around 30 Airstreams coming, we'll have to incorporate a happy hour open house. We are working on a calendar of events and trying to keep the rally loose because there is so so SO much to see and do. It will be fun to sit around the fire and hear what others did that day and then maybe randomly tweak your next day based on some feedback.

Hey Ed and Kay Rottinger....I had a wonderful time meeting up with you for the first time this past week at the Tahquamenon Falls State Park(about 75 miles from Mackinaw City) in Paradise, MI. Can't wait till June when we hook into some big ones again on the Michigamme Reservoir near Iron Mountain, MI and than later again at the Exploring Under the Bridge Rally this August when we can swap (approved) fish stories with everyone! Sometimes, what happens in the boat, stays in the boat.

This is what I love about rallying...new friends, new adventures!

Danielle and I are looking forward to this rally and the vacation we've planned around it.

We start off in Elizabethtown, KY to see Antsy McClain and the Trailer Park Troubadours. They're a fun band for young and old alike - we've seen kids as young as three or four and older/wiser folks probably in their 80's at the Antsy shows. If you have time to join us on July 28th you can find the thread HERE.

Right after that is the Exploring under the Bridge Rally and it looks like it's a nice campground in a great location. So many things to do... it's going to be difficult to do everything... even on a long weekend.

After that we're going to spend two weeks in Munising, MI in the Upper Peninsula working on a Habitat for Humanity project. If anyone has ideas of things to do/see in the U.P. please let us know.

Thanks for the recon trip and posting all the pictures.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in August.

What do you lean towards as things you like? Having spent most of my childhoods in the UP and most of our kids summers there, I can tell you there is to much to list. Get a GOOD U.P. map that has trails/ campsite/s points of interest /etc on it .. We liked exploring old mining/lumber sites, of which there are many near Munsing... if you have a bit extra time go further north to the tip and down the west side of the UP.. Lots of falls lighthouses , boat tours and hiking trails near there. Must sees--- Pictured Rocks cruise, Seney Wildlife Refuge, several falls near Munising, please go to Palms Book State Park and see the Kitchi-iti-kipi Springs. Much more...

Talked to Sandy put a deposit down. Wes bees in full hook up. Dry campin not for us. In fifteen minutes upon disconnect we can fill a 13gl garbage bag. We always ask to be closest to the dumpster. 50gls fresh water whats that? I use that much too rinse off the cucumbers! I have 2 Honda 2000Is converted to trifuel with quick hookup to the 40gl tanks thought I'd use em to go out to the everglades and get back to hear my heart beat. Well that never happened. There is a sense of security when I pull that black water tank lever and see the results of a good campin trip flow thru that clear plastic connector. I mean what did I pay extra for anyhow? I mean I did look at a popup and in the end I settled with solid hickory cabinets and 2 ACs! Whiskey Tango

I have never been to Michigan. We are coming in on Monday and leaving on Sunday.
