I just replaced all the clearance lights on our '74 today. All that is left is a little dusting, cleaning, washing and a little towel massage and "Nixon" will be ready to hit the street. Looking forward to meeting new friends and seeing old ones.

AXLES ARE ON!!!!! Wheels painted, tires replaced..... It's polishing time!!! Who ever said it only takes a couple of hours to put the axles on failed to mentioned it takes hours to go to town, find the correct bolts, washers, nuts, stand at the auto parts store trying to figure out what size shocks to use.... All things considered it was not that bad. Thanks for the help 94tri. I'm ready for the 16th. Swimming in KY in April, you'll have more than just blue lips. You'll be singing tenor for a while.

I now that some one is counting down.....what day are we on?????

I'm ready to hit the road and meet everyone. I think that I actually need some time away from my Airstream to refresh and come back anew. Been pretty frustrating trying to raise the shell off. I've been trying for like a month now (it might sound long, but I only work on it during the weekends).

My new tent out-weathered that storms we had blow through here last week, so I'm ready to pack it up and stick it in the other trailer. As for Whiskey, my pooch, he's biting at the bit to hit the road. I've been counting down the days to him and he get's sooo excited cause he knows that he gets to go for a ride.

Anyways, just wanted to say hello to everyone

Attention All ,,, I am sure everyone has been dusting the "cob webs" out of their Airstream, I have mine anyway, There are lots of people coming from all over !

I have wiped it all down , cleaned the stove ,fridge, bathroom and so on, but I am not sure about the wheel bearings, I am 12 Miles from Natural Bridge, I think the grease can wait:rolle yes:

Cleaning is on the list but it will have to wait until we get a few more items fixed. Next week is "getting ready to go time". I've made my list, now can I get it all done in five days. Regardless, I'm ready and can't wait!

Wheel bearings is on my list. Haven't done them in a few years.
Hope it is warm and dry this weekend so I can get them done. I did get new grease seals so I'm ready.
I'm hoping to get out of town on the Easter weekend.

short update

Folks,

We are two weeks away from our outing.

I can’t believe we have filled an entire campsite and are overflowing into adjacent grounds. 63 committed and 10 maybes online, lord knows how many more haven’t signed up.

Whoever said Airstreaming is dying in the Midwest must have asleep!

A few things.

* If you find you can’t make it and need to cancel at the last minute, please let me know before you cancel with ReserveAmerica. I have quite a few folks that have written me off list who really want to camp with us and I would rather see a silver tube nested in with us rather than a SOB...

* I will reply to folks off list as fast as I can but please be patient – work is overwhelming me at the moment.

* I found a Full campsite map:
http://parks.ky.gov/NR/rdonlyres/42C...uralBridge.pdf

* It appears everyone wants to have a very unstructured event. I love the idea of hanging out and making friends. There was no interest in the story telling event or the cook-off so I have pulled it from the schedule.

* I am a bit concerned about the potluck - if you are planning on participating let me know so I can get you on the list. If we do get 73 people, a couple of cans of beans will not go too far!

* event and volunteer list has been updated:
DOGWOODS & BLUEGRASS

* If there is anything you can see yourself helping/fitting in with - again - let me know so we can get you on the list.

Not whining - just between this and work I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. Cant wait for the time away from the office and hanging out with new friends!

Please don't stress!!!! It will all be OK. If it ends up anything like our potlucks there will be plenty of food! I sorry I haven't replied. It's just such a hard decision. For Friday, I will make some some coney sauce. I will also bring some onions, ketchup and mustard. For Saturday, I am not sure but I think it will be some sort of dessert. I hope that helps.

There is definitely no need to be concerned. We are too far out at this point. I usually decide the day before we leave when I wander through the grocery.

I have taken the liberty to compile the list of items people said they would bring.

Friday

Rhonda – coney sauce, onions, ketchup, mustard
Ike_T & aturner4u - turkey dogs, smoked sausage (or maybe italian sausage?)

Saturday
SKY - Jarlesberg Cheese & Red Onion Spread & Crackers
DanB - Belgian Waffle Maker, Batter, Syrup
63Silver - Veggie & Meat (BBQ)
gregth - TBA
Mouth012006 - Shrimp Jambalaya and Chicken & Sausage Gumbo
Rhonda – Dessert
Airedale – TBA
BigAl – English trifle
Tsunami – Mexican cornbread, pasta salad
63Silver – Pork shoulder (BBQ), fruit salad, side dish
Runningbarre – cheesy potatoes, dessert (pistachio fluff?)
Alumatube – TBA
gregth – no bake cookies, anti-pasta kabobs or something from the dutch oven
scf32 – pasta salad, bunch of rolls
soldiermedic - salad & fixings
Ike_T & aturner4u - veggie, possibly grilled chicken legs? meat of some sort...

another update

Thanks for the words of support. I spent a chunk of my weekend on a ladder with cyclo in hand and feel a lot better (except or the pulled muscle in my back...)!

aturner4u, thanks for the update on activities.
I added a few PM's to it and have posted it on the web page.

Current event and volunteer list:
DOGWOODS & BLUEGRASS

The biggest hole in the schedule I see - at the moment - is we have no way of making coffee - if anyone has large sized coffee pot please chime in! Also we do not, yet, have coffee to put in in the pot.

63Silver is contacting the park about having a nature walk for the group.

About a week and a half away - it going to be great!

I have contacted Brian Gasdorf (park naturalist) about a nature walk. I have not heard back but I will call again in just a minute. I also have access to a large coffee pot and will be happy to bring it.
I will also be happy to bring something for Friday night but I'm not sure what????? What goes with Beans and Weenies???

Digger, how about you bring that Cyclo and show me how to use it (on my trailer)? I'm sure after a couple of days I'll figure it out.
