I guess what my point is, is that we hope those "in a funk" stay home and those wanting to "get a funk on" show up at the crawfish festival. I will caution some to not over due it the first night. You do not want to wake up the next morning "feeling funky", for that makes getting your "funk on" the next day a "serious funking" challenge.
funking hilarious

Tequila Calling

I was on the way home from work today and this came on Radio Margaritaville on the Sirius radio and I immediately thought of the impending Craf Fish Fest Rally. I know it isn't Funk, Cajun, or Zydeco, but I think it is just as pertinent.

Michael Arnone, the driving force behind the Crawfish Fest the past 20 years, e-mailed me to spread the word that Camp New Orleans has only two 20 amp 120 volt hookups left and that Camp Madisonville, where we are staying, is at about 50% capacity right now.

As lagniappe, he wants everyone to know that if you purchase any camping ticket before or on April 1st, you will receive a free serving of boiled crawfish with corn and potatoes on Friday night before the free campers/krewe only concert.

He also said that, again for campers only, the Bayou Bar will be open at 6 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday for Bloody Mary’s featuring Ketel One. "Come have a drink with me and we can start the party early!" I told him I'd pass the word along and that I was really looking forward to some early morning beignets.

He also hopes to announce the Saturday headliner this week as well....

You and me both!
Amanda doesn't really like seafood either.
But I'll tell ya Carl, the servings are huge.
I don't think I can finish two at one sitting, and I'm not known for leaving too much on my plate if ya know what I mean.

Beth will be able to help out with their shares too... no problem there. We can sit there all day long eating them bugs, they go very well with a bloody or margi, or a driver or even a cold beer. Not liking seafood should be no problem at all. There is a ton of awesome food that is not seafood related, so the wives should be well taken care of. I would be glad to bring a loaf of bread and some jelly and peanut butter, if food is going to be a problem.

Ok, we know Elaine and Amanda don't like seafood. How about the other attendees? Is there anybody else out there that is going, doesn't like seafood, and is willing to give up their plate of mud bugs???

Heck I'll even trade corn and potatoes.

Frank,
Hopefully the PB&J won't be necessary.

Sorry Frank - you're not getting any of my...flown in fresh from Louisianna... crawdaddies. For the non-seafood lovers Crawfish Fest offers up multiple variations of Jambalaya including the andouille version, and Po Boys. Say...Yeah Yo Right!

For the faint of Cajun culinary heart - the food venders offer up hamburgers and hot dogs as well.

FESTI!

No. I don't think food is going to be a problem. But just in case, I think there's a Burger King about 30 minutes away. They have Whoppers and Whopper Jrs. and probably some kind of chicken sandwiches too. They'll be happy to "make them your way." But if you're really into PB& Js, by all means bring your fixins along.

Definitely.
But now let me introduce you to Trombone Shorty.
This "shorty" wasn't even born when your mule video was produced.
He just turned 23 in January and has been blowing people away for years.

And now, one for the ladies.

Do you remember Eric Lindell? The ladies were digging him last year to say the least. We bought, well, Beth bought his CD and got it autographed. I like the wawwa guitar in this song very much.

Is anyone getting excited to see some good music yet? Deitz you getting excited? Have you been stretching the liver in preparation?

Dave loves Eric Lindell. He has been going to his shows all over the place. Here he is at the New Orleans Jazz Fest...

JJ Grey & Mofro have been confirmed as the headliner on the Main Stage for Saturday night. Michael has also extended the free boiled crawfish offer with a camping ticket purchase until midnight, CST April 15th.

Camp New Orleans is sold out. There's still a few spaces left in Camp Madisonville and Camp Baton Rouge.
