Threads like this make my life almost bearable at sea for 7-8 weeks at a time. Looks like lots of fun. Music videos are great to listen to. Wish we were there for this one..... As always, maybe next year, unless I'm at sea again.
My wife Beth has been on me to get a solid count for how many are coming. I see 8 RSVP's on the list. I have sent an email to the fence sitter and will hopefully get an answer of yes. I also know of one other WBCCIer that is coming for sure and she says she has a maybe couple too. If everyone was to come we would have eleven of us. I like that number very much. I always try and turn things up to eleven even though the knob only goes to ten in most situations.
This rally will not be a formal one. We are not going to attempt to plan a meal or have potluck. Too much music going on all day and evening and I plan to just eat a solid diet of crawfish. The one rally tradition I am going to uphold is Happy Hour. Happy Hour will start at 4:30 and end when people want it to. Beth and I will have a Happy Hour goodie to share and hopefully others will do the same. I do not want to interfere with anyones musical enjoyment by having anything that people feel obligated to. I will say however, I spent time with Pee Wee Schwamborn and he told me that both Wally and Stella Byam and his mother Helen never missed Happy Hour. I will be serving Wally's favorite cocktail on Friday to all that care to hold up a toast to Wally. On Saturday we will toast Helen Schwamborn, the clubs first president.
One other thing... Does anyone have a large gas fired griddle? If we can come up with one, I will fix pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, maybe homefries to anyone that wants...
Carl, you are going to have to be surprised, but you are not even close with your guess. We will have the drink in question on hand. Friday will be Wally and Stella's then Saturday will be Helen's... no obligation to try it if you do not want to.
That griddle is exactly what I am talking about. I will bring a ton of food for Saturday morning and every one can kick in a donation and I will go fetch more food for sunday morning. A rally fee is not wanted, donations to the general cause is desired. I will also bring a propane tank for the griddle.
Another cool thing someone might bring is one of those propane fire rings.
Browsing the site I saw this. I thought it was good info. Site layout
If you see where it says "camp Madisonville" to the left where those two lanes come together is where we enter this area. I was planning to try and get us all together in that upper left corner. It is a little further to the bath house and the events, but it will be a good area to all be together. Most trailer are on the two roads that say "camp Madisonville" and along the fence just below it.
