can you actually have too much funk? Is that why they say, "I am in a funk" I always thought funk was a good thing. I mean they named a railroad after it, and it was a great railroad. Some called it "grand". But being "in a funk" is different than "getting your funk on". I guess what my point is, is that we hope those "in a funk" stay home and those wanting to "get a funk on" show up at the crawfish festival. I will caution some to not over due it the first night. You do not want to wake up the next morning "feeling funky", for that makes getting your "funk on" the next day a "serious funking" challenge.

Frank,
Thanks for the warning. I will have to behave myself as I have been known to get my funk on a little too early and end up feeling funky the next morming. In my advance age (43) The mind is willing, but the body isn't able. I just don't bounce back like I used to.

I promise they will have you dancing weather you visit Mistral Blue's Party Pump or not. Watch out, that squeeze box can wail like there is no tomorrow.
I was on the way home from work today and this came on Radio Margaritaville on the Sirius radio and I immediately thought of the impending Craf Fish Fest Rally. I know it isn't Funk, Cajun, or Zydeco, but I think it is just as pertinent.
Michael Arnone, the driving force behind the Crawfish Fest the past 20 years, e-mailed me to spread the word that Camp New Orleans has only two 20 amp 120 volt hookups left and that Camp Madisonville, where we are staying, is at about 50% capacity right now.
As lagniappe, he wants everyone to know that if you purchase any camping ticket before or on April 1st, you will receive a free serving of boiled crawfish with corn and potatoes on Friday night before the free campers/krewe only concert.
He also said that, again for campers only, the Bayou Bar will be open at 6 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday for Bloody Mary’s featuring Ketel One. "Come have a drink with me and we can start the party early!" I told him I'd pass the word along and that I was really looking forward to some early morning beignets.
He also hopes to announce the Saturday headliner this week as well....
Mud Bugs and music Friday night, Bloody Marys Saturday morning, I can't Wait. What's even better is my wife HATES any kind of seafood...So I get TWO servings of mud bugs!

You and me both!
Amanda doesn't really like seafood either.
But I'll tell ya Carl, the servings are huge.
I don't think I can finish two at one sitting, and I'm not known for leaving too much on my plate if ya know what I mean.
I can eat their share, without any problem.
Beth will be able to help out with their shares too... no problem there. We can sit there all day long eating them bugs, they go very well with a bloody or margi, or a driver or even a cold beer. Not liking seafood should be no problem at all. There is a ton of awesome food that is not seafood related, so the wives should be well taken care of. I would be glad to bring a loaf of bread and some jelly and peanut butter, if food is going to be a problem.
Ok, we know Elaine and Amanda don't like seafood. How about the other attendees? Is there anybody else out there that is going, doesn't like seafood, and is willing to give up their plate of mud bugs???
Heck I'll even trade corn and potatoes.
Frank,
Hopefully the PB&J won't be necessary.
