Blackhawk Lake

Curtis,

I'm not sure if this is the right Blackhawk Lake in Wisconsin. If it is the one between Cobb and Highland, Wi. the url is http://www.blackhawklake.com/ and it looks pretty nice.

I called both numbers, it is the Blackhawk Lake campground.

The problem is that for Labor Day, they are all booked up for electric sites. Only rustic sites are availible (no electric, water or other hookups).

Curtis, if you have picked up three of the group sites, and have the room for a few more to come, we'd be happy to join. If you have the only a single site, then the only way to go would be rustic and with that there would not be any way to group us all together.

As for the Chitown rally, I'll start looking into the date and get some group info soon.

Eric

For those who want a swimming lake I don't think too many state parks have them open. The gov. of IL has cut the parks' budget so much that they can't staff the lakes with lifegaurds. I know Moraine View and Rock Cut closed their lakes for that exact reason. BUT Illinois Beach State Park is right on Lake Michigan so maybe they will have the beach open.Ok I propose that the second weekend in July, the 11th - 13th that we all go to Illinois Beach State Park. It's close, has a swimming lake, fishing, hiking, and hunting. It's even close to Gurnee Mills! Maybe the women can all take a day and go shopping!!! Naa. We're going camping and camping doesn't include shopping. Anyway, let me know so that I can start making reservations!!!

Not sure about the group, but I would like to suggest one of the later weekends because the 11th is the next weekend after the 4th. Any input?

Silvertwinkie brought up a good point. I think the 18th- 20th will be better. I wasn't even thinking about that silvertwinkie.

I have one PM out still waiting to hear back. I agree the 18th sounds good, just want to hear back from one last person before we set the date in stone.

I should have the info by tonight and we can set up the date for sure from that point.

Set the date... keep the adult chocolate beverages cool... we'll be there!!!

Not being terribly familiar with Illinois, just where IS Illinois Beach State Park? Right in Chicagoland, or where?

Perhaps after a day of shopping for ribbons and bows, we ladies can strip down to bra and panties and have a pillow fight? Just an idea.......

We're up for the 18th..........but sure wish we could find a date where illbillies, cottage, and Chris could make it. C'mon Eric, can't you please everyone?

Tracy

Okey, Dokey, Eric. The gaunlet has been thrown. I REALLY want to hear how you're going to respond to THIS one!!! I thought that the Toga party idea kinda sounded fun... but Tracy just may really be onto something here...

Uhhh.... this IS a spectator sport for the men, right?

Lemme go ask my wife if she'll still let me come!!!

My appologies, Tracy... I know your post was tongue-in-cheek, but it was just sooooo good, I couldn't help m'self!!!

Wow...I leave you all alone for a few hours and.....

Hey I am up for whenever the majority can attend. The 18th sounds bad for a number of folks and that's ok.

How about the 25, 26 and 27th? The typical potluck on the 26th.

If that date is not good, the 11th will work, I just thought that some might have already gone camping over the 4th and needed a rest from the in tow for a weekend or so.

I sent Argosy-1 an email to see if he, Illbilly, Cottage and anyone else in the clan can make other dates (25th or the 11th). I won't BS, my pref is the 25th, but like I said whatever gets the best group together I am up for.

Now onto the pillow fight part. Interesting concept. Sorry to disappoint, but that will keep me out of trouble I believe!

At any rate, let's see what other say about the weekend of the 25th and if not, then the 11th?

Eric

Idea

Why can't there be more weekends in July?

I have to GONG the 25th. Silvertwinkie (can't say that without a giggle) has a point about the 11th being too soon after the 4th......besides that, do you think we could find someplace that has reservations together on such short notice? Of course if the 25th works for the rest of you (laying on some guilt) we wouldn't want to spoil (sporting sad eyes and pouty lips) the rest of your fun (oh, woas me). Yaknow....we could always shoot for the first weekend in August! (subtle, eh?)

Really, all. We'll try to be there no matter what the date, and if we can't, we'll be home doing rain dances and cursing......no, no, that's not what I meant to say. We'll get through it just knowing the rest of you are having fun and wishing we were there (biting tongue).

Hey Roger, I am kinda surprised you'd be interested in watching the ladies pillow fight.......won't you men be too busy drinking beer, belching, blaming bad smells on the dogs and scratching yourselves? (giggle......all stereotyping in good fun - even if it may ring true)

hoping for a happy ending,
Tracy
