Hello Dennis and Everyone,
Deb and I are going to drive over Friday afternoon and visit with all you experienced enthusiasts. We're real excited so be prepared for all the dumb questions. We're still looking, nothing has just jumped up and grabbed us yet. We had a great visit with Scott in San Antonio. Thanks for the lead. I might near had to hog-tie Deb, she really liked the larger coach. I'm leaning more toward EFI and O/D. Anyway, we'll be the wide-eyed ones in a white GMC Crew Cab Dually w/camper shell. Can we bring anything? Jim

Kiepersol Estates Vineyard.......

I'm trying to contact the winery to see if we can arrange a late evening tour on Friday. The Bed & Breakfast (Restaurant) said they would work with us if anyone cared to stay for an early dinner.

The winery is probably about 15 miles or so from the State Park.

I was thinking maybe a 5-6 winery tour and then dinner. That would put us back at the CG not too awful late.

Just a thought right now. I think the closest eating establishment is about 8 miles south of the CG in Tyler.

Update on winery....

Contacted the winery - they said a tour and wine tasting could be done at 4:30 on Friday for about 5 bucks each.

The restuarant, however, is billed as "fine dining". I think that means "expensive".

Maybe we could do the wine tasting and tour and hit a ma and pa truckstop or Bar-be-que on the way back to Tyler State Park.

There is also a state run fish hatchery and freshwater fishing museum nearby, as Gerald Clay mentioned earlier.

Don't plan, and it just might happen......

I do look forward to the Pot Luck on Saturday evening, they're always a hoot It will be a good way to relax after a full day in Canton.

Can't wait!

Txbeaux reported that he plans to attend with his brand new '84 310. I plan to pull in early afternoon tomorrow.

It appears as if the weather will cooperate this weekend.

Reservations made...

We made our reservations a few weeks ago (Thurs. p.m.- too late to cancel) but are still working on some details that could keep us away. If we can get out of Coppell before 3:00 p.m. tomorrow (Fri) we'll be there!

Hello Everyone,
It's almost midnight and we just got home in our "brand new to us" 84 310. It ran and handled just like it should have with 28,000 original miles. Deb can't get over the power step, she just stands there opening and shuting the door. (We're used to a fold down) Downside is, I think the original owner of 17 years probably spent his summers in it mostly parked. But it's not bad at all. Curtains, upholstery, a little of this and some of that..underlying Cigarette smell..Cosmetics. Now the sad news...we had a death in the family while we were gone and must pass on this weekend, as much as we hate it...We're only 35 minutes away. We don't know any of the details yet so we might be able to run over for a couple of hours tomorrow (today)afternoon...depending. It's my wife's great Aunt so we will see. Anyway have a great time if we miss ya'll and we'll do it next time for sure. Jim & Deb

Tyler unplanned event

Thanks Dennis and All! We had a great time at Tyler and enjoyed the southern hospitality. The view was gorgeous too!
We are still wandering around and currently find ourselves in the FL panhandle. We have been here about a week enjoying the sun and view on the Gulf waters.
We hear it is supposed to be snowing this next week back in OH and are dreading the cold again!

Hope to hear some good news about Sapphire from John and Charles soon.
We will keep her in our prayers.

Great Campsite just......

....can't figure out WHY the Great State of Texas constructed the campsites so that it was impossible to park the curbside of the units towards the lake!

canton meeting

would it be okay if my husband and I came for the day. we'd like to meet a bunch of airstreamer folks. But our AS wont be up to camping. Do I have to join a group? Could I pay day rate to enter the park? It will give me an experience of what AS is about. Thanks, Silver Suz
