I have wanted to attend this since we got our trailer. But living in Cincinnati makes it hard for us to get it out of cold storage to make the trip down. Someday...

I guess I'm too late.
Tried to make reservations on the ReserveAmerica site but it shows every campsite taken during the Dec 30 - Jan 5 window.
Ditto for Grayton Beach State Park, Bummer.

Cancellations happen. Not only from Canopenians, but also from SOB owners who had planned to be in the park during those dates. Don't give up yet. Set aside some time every day around 8:00am Central Time to check availability again.

Also try shifting your arrival date. While it may show every campsite taken for December 30th, there may be some available for arrival on December 31st. Or January 1st…

Try Grayton beach and watch for cancellations on this thread and the Facebook group. There were lots of changes going on last December.

There are websites which will track Reserve America for cancellations for a park you choose. The free sites worked well for us, but there are some that charge to monitor continuously rather than checking every half hour.

Be prepared to act as soon as you get the email alert, as someone else is also looking and sites are booked quickly.

I went ahead and signed up for notices at
http://reserve.wanderinglabs.com/

Got a notice today that two sites were available, got #59.

I reserved it from 12/30 through 1/5. I am assuming that if the rally is 1/3-1/6 that 1/6 is the departure day. If that's incorrect please correct me so I can grab 1/6 as well.

Hi Erik, so glad you got a site and congratulations on getting your new Airstream. I added you to the Facebook group today so feel free to introduce yourself there and ask questions as you enjoy your new FC.
As for folks departing the Canopener, the rally is over on Sunday but about half the folks stick around for at least another day and group up to go out to eat or share what ever they have left.
Look forward to meeting you,

Thanks Joe. I'm not big on "booking my face", but I have checked out the Facebook page. Thanks for adding me, and for your welcome e-mail in the AirForums. If the rally is over Sunday I think we'll head home then. Our first camping trip in our new Airstream a few weeks ago involved coming home on a week day and we spent about two hours driving in bumper-to-bumper Atlanta afternoon rush hour traffic before we made it home. That was nerve wracking! We resolved to do our traveling on weekends after that!

Canopener 2019 Map Updates 2-20-2018

Good morning! I've updated the maps as of February 20. If you see an error, please send me a PM so I can fix it. As of today we have about 80 signups on the rally registration page.

Canopener 2019 Campground Map - Sites 1-99

Canopener 2019 Campground Map - Sites 100-168

To be listed on the map, and be eligible for door prizes, please register with the rally on the official RSVP page. A campground reservation doesn't automatically register you with the rally. To register for the rally, click on the link below and scroll to the bottom of the page. Once there:
1). Click the "Yes" button to let us know you are attending
2). In the comments box, provide your site number, the names of the people on your site, and your arrival and departure dates.
3). Click the "submit" button. This step is very important!
4). If you change your plans later, return to the RSVP page scroll to the bottom, and note the changes on your registration form.

Canopener 2019 Map Updates 5/8/2018

Sorry to read Michael, a long time Canopener attendee, sold his Airstream and won't be at Canopener 2019. Congratulations Steve and Jane on snagging a coveted site. Thanks Michael for reflecting the change on the RSVP page. It helps me a lot in keeping track of the current state of rally reservations.

I've updated the maps to reflect the few changes since the last update. Here they are:

Canopener 2019 Sites 1-99 Map

Canopener 2019 Sites 100-168 Map

If you have a site reservation at Topsail Hill or another campground, but haven't yet registered for the rally (campground reservation doesn't automatically register you for the rally), please go to the official Canopener 2019 RSVP link below and register. Once on the RSVP page, scroll to the bottom and check the button that you are attending. In the comments block type in the first names of the people in your Airstream, your campground and site number, and your expected arrival date. Make sure you click the "Submit" button to record your rally registration before leaving the page. Registration qualifies you for door prizes and puts your Airstream on the map.

Should your plans change, please go to the RSVP page and note that you will not be attending by scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking the "No" button and then the "Submit" button.
