Canopener 2014
8th Annual Canopener Rally
January 10-12, 2014
Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, Gregory E. Moore RV Resort
7525 W. Scenic Highway 30A
Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459
(850)267-8330
For a fun-filled weekend in northwest Florida, come to the Canopener Rally at beautiful Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. The park's beaches have sugar white sand, the water is crystal clear, and temperatures average a high of 61 degrees in early January. This rally just keeps growing and growing in popularity – there were almost 80 Airstream trailers and motor homes at the past Canopener Rally. Fun and sharing a good time with like-minded fellow Airstreamers are the main goals.
If you've attended this rally previously, you know what to expect. If you didn’t, here’s a link to a video of Canopener 2013:
In addition, here’s a link to a file of various photographs from the Canopener 2013:
Flickr: Canopener 2013
Scheduled activities include: a potluck dinner and breakfast, a breakfast with the ranger, a cornhole board tournament, trailer open house, and a number of other fun informal social activities. Although the rally is officially Friday through Sunday, January 10-12, 2014, there have been informal events the past few years on the preceding Thursday night. Stay tuned for more info on that night - there will be something for you early arrivers to do.
There will be a link posted for the RSVP signup page. We encourage each of you to RSVP, as that is the source used for badge creation, being listed on the site map, and for planning purposes. Reservations for campsites must be made through Reserve America (their policy is 11 months in advance at the earliest) starting February 10, but earlier if you are going to arrive earlier. You need to make your reservation promptly to get a spot in the 103 loop. This is a case of “you snooze, you lose.” There are no rally fees.

Canopener 2014
Robin and Tom have reserved site 133, loop 103, again for 2014.
Thanks again to Russ, Linda and all involved. Great rally.
Note we have changed our user name (formerly "Tom and Robin").
Always thought our Airstream looked like a baked potato wrapped in aluminum foil.....

My kids suggest the building of that trailer frame is irrefutable evidence of having way too much free time on my hands. Perhaps they are correct.

I guess Alumitater is no worse than a Roadtoaster.
We are booked in 118 early because I heard Tom & Chuck are washing and waxing all the early arrivers trailers.

I am going to have to wait a couple of more days before the system will take my reservation. So far it looks like two spots have been reserved. Really do hope the weather is a bit better then the last Canopener. In the mean time it is going to be a busy year with many rallys to attend.

We are bound and determined to be there in 2014! Rob is fixing our Airstream as fast as he can. (a deer tried to cross the highway by going between our van and our airstream as we headed to canopener this year!) we will be there with (sleigh) bells on, we hope! I made a great decision marrying a guy who loves to fix and rebuild Airstreams-- it really comes in handy. Katie

With all the beverages consumed during the rally, I am sure the concrete pads will be well-wershd.

Brad, you're brilliant! Now we just have to extend the hitch so the cow catcher... I mean DEERcatcher doesn't hit the van!

I'll definitely be there this year! I mean, unless I'm not. But I'll definitely want to be there this (next) year!
I'm thankful that it's a week later this time. I hope that increases participation some, even though I know it was a raucous event last time!

Reservations Confirmed - Canopener 2014
We have confirmed reservations at site 135 for the third year in a row and have also replied to the RSVP page. Look forward to seeing everyone again.
To whet your appetite, here is a YouTube slide show of Canopener 2013 set to music. It also appears on the Canopener 2013 thread:
Due to projected water rationing at Topsail in 2014, unfortunately Tom and I will not be able to wash trailers.
