I see another first timer has signed up taking the count to 53. I think I know of 3 more (2 with FLmarine plus AWPPC) that aren't on the sign up page so that should make it about 56. Not sure about cancellations. It's shaping up to be another large rally. Counting the hours until 10:00am Saturday morning. You regulars know what happens then!!!

There is at least 3 more rigs from Georgia who are not on the RSVP list and are coming.
The 10:00 am recipe has been tweaked and ingredients are being stockpiled.

We have amended our reservation to allow us to be there for New Years Eve. Will be arriving December 31st 2012 and leaving January 7th 2013. I know we have people coming that have not yet posted. If anyone plans on cancelling please let me know so I can pass it on Thanks, Jerry.

Canopener New Years Eve Rally

Looks like there will be enough of us there for a separate rally. We are arriving December 31st as well as Mark and Debbie. I beleive the Rosenthals as well as the Gills are changing their reservations and will be following us down. Looking forward to seeing everyone Jerry, Irene and Clancy.

Many of you might question why I am posting to this thread, since I no longer own an Airstream. However, having been the organizer of the past two Canopeners I feel that qualifies me to make a couple of observations, along with my wishes for a great rally.

Thanks to those of you who respond to the various signup lists/RSVP page, and continue to update your status with any changes/cancellations. You are normally the folks who also step forward to volunteer your time (and materials) to make the Canopener rally a success. One person cannot do everything that is required for a group of this size. Again, a big thanks to those of you who helped me the past two years.

To those of you who are lurking in the shadows and not signing up on the RSVP page....I don't understand, unless you are in the "Witness Protection Program." Dealing with unknowns is what drives organizers crazy. A number of decisions are made based on RSVPs......the most critical of which is how to fit the potluck dinner into a clubhouse that can only accommodate 90 bodies. Other signup lists drive planning for breakfast with the Ranger/Campground Volunteers, setup/cleanup details, etc.

The Canopener Rally gets bigger each year......and with that comes more planning. I encourage each of you to volunteer some of your time, and if you signup for something......follow through. Last year, even with limiting the breakfast numbers with a signup sheet, I had some people who didn't show up and others that came but were not on the list. Luckily, we were able to accommodate everyone.

I am confident that Russ (Luckyducks) will do an outstanding job with Canopener 2013, but he does need your help and cooperation in making it happen.

Jenn and I hope to see everyone during Saturday afternoon's Open House.

Chief

We were one of those bad GA folks who didn't RSVP. I went to check on it and found I had filled out the form but never pressed submit.

I will post this now and more than likely again as we get closer to the rally.

Looking at the projected attendance please give this some thought.

In order to move the line as quickly as possible during the Pot Luck would you consider "Labeling" your donation. I am not suggestion that salads, rolls, and apple pie be labeled but those dishes that are not self explanatory, tuna verses chicken casserole and dishes that might contain allergic items cause people to stop and think.

Masking tape with description on the dish will be very helpful. I say on the pot as apposed a paper under the dish as items tend to get moved frequently as the tables are populated
