Silver invasion is starting...

Aluminum is beginning to trickle in. I have a feeling it won't be long us SOB's will feel a little out of place back here in loop 103!

Door Prizes!

As I've mentioned before, we will meet in the clubhouse at 6:30pm on Saturday night to raffle off door prizes, announce the Cornhole Tournament winner, announce the Trailer Decorating Contest winner, and then have the entertainment (Pete Sings the Oldies).

The thing I wanted to highlight in this post is that we have exciting news in the way of door prizes. Airstream of Mississippi, (the Airstream dealership in Gulfport, Mississippi owned by Rick and JJ Foley), is generously donating a number of door prize items, including the grand prize - an Airstream bicycle rack! Airstream, Inc is also donating quite a few Airstream items. Thanks in advance for their generosity!

You don't want to miss this! You must be RSVP'd for this rally and be present to win. One winner per trailer/moho.

Our Airstream Has A New Friend

We went to pick up the Airstream this afternoon in preparation for our trip to Canopener. We live near the hometown of Krispy Kreme. Needless to say we were surprised and delighted to see Krispy Kreme's restored 1960 Flxible Starcruiser bus sharing the warehouse where we store our Airstream. Sorry, we won't be able to bring the bus to Canopener this year!

The "For Sale" signs will go into our 31' 1983 Sovereign this week. We have agreed to purchase a 34' from the son of a previous owner who passed away several years ago. If we can sell ours quickly, the 1997 34' will be so much easier to buy!

Anybody know anyone who wants (or needs, like we did) a 31' Airstream, please let us know. we will be at the CanOpener, and would be willing to tow it to a new owner's location on the way home.

Regarding the "block party", I will plan on bringing my PA with microphone and 2 speakers with stands. If someone wants to put together a playlist on an MP3 player, we can play music, but mealtime blessing (the shortest was "Good God! Let's eat!" as I recall), announcements, and any raffle or whatever would be easier to hear that way. I thought that Pete (I think that's right) might be singing too, after the meal. Pete, if that's true, please PM or respond so I can coordinate what you need.

I can bring three 10x10 canopies, four tables (1x8 and 3x6), three Coleman lanterns and as much as three hundred feet of 12 guage extension cords. Let me know how much, if any, of this stuff you think may be needed.

Not sure who else is bringing what, but I was planning on bringing 9 tables (remnants from being band parents) - I may cut that back to 6. If you can bring canopies that would be easier for me packing/space-wise! The weather looks like it should be clear for Saturday night, which would be great.

Breakfast with the Rangers. Add 4 to the list Regina and I are bringing 2 guests. They are staying in the cabins. We are here. Thare are a couple Air Stream and an Argosy here. They did not know about they rally and are leaving soon. That could have been 3 or 4 more for the rally. I think they might be here next year.

Brad (dieseleagle), whatever you have room for in your truck would be great. I know Brad (nilesrob) is pushing his space to the edge with 9 tables and 2 canopies. That's why he wants to not bring his canopies. The park told me I can use the folding tables from the clubhouse (maybe 10) so that's a big help. Others are bringing tables also. I think we need 4-6 tables for food and using the canopies would be great so we can string lights. Any other tables would be for people (165 plus) to eat on instead of their laps. Everyone is on their own for chairs. Russ

We have a table.....but no canopies. For those who are already there, how is the weather? Forecast that I have seen sets the highs in the 50's daily. True? Also, 70 percent chance of rain one of the days? I need to make sure I have all the fixin's for sea breezes if it will be raining......

It's not a problem for me to bring the three canopies and the tables. Looks like the weather is going to cooperate. Looking forward to a great weekend!

Have 6 tables packed, will also bring a roll of table top to cover the tables (another leftover from high school band).

If folks have access to firewood and can bring a little extra, we'll set up our fire pit.
