I think this was the best Canopener yet! Linda and I had a lot of fun and we really enjoyed seeing old friends and making new friends.
I wanted to publicly thank Chief for all of his efforts in organizing and leading this rally. He really put in a lot of work behind the scenes planning and working the details. His graphics skills are top notch too (the campground map and logo in particular). And thanks are also due to the many others who made contributions - whether it was labor in the clubhouse for setup/cleanup, Bloody Marys/Mimosas/Margaritas, tables, wine tasting, chili, name badges, or open house signs; you know who you are and thank you!
We can't wait until next year!

I had planed on stopping by on Saturday during the open house period. But a funny thing happened, I ended driving over to Lake City and bringing my own Airstream home. New to me 1964 Bambi II. I hope to be able to make the Canopener next year as a camper.

A thousand thanks for all the well wishes and expressions of gratitude. It was my pleasure to serve such a fine group of folks, and to know that maybe I added a bit of fun to your lives........I know that it will take me a couple of days to recover from all the fun that we had. Some may not have heard what I said Saturday night, so I think it bears repeating...."One person cannot make a successful rally." It does take a core of individuals to do the planning, etc., but even more importantly it requires participants to have a good attitude toward sharing and working together for the common good. I think every Canopener attendee should be congratulated for their contributions to the overall success of this rally. We must be doing something right, as how many Rangers/Volunteers (at State Parks, no less) welcome such a large group the way that the Topsail personnel support Canopener.....even volunteering to work on their day off.....it is amazing.
Russ (Luckyducks) will be your host for Canopener 2013. After two years, it is time for me to pass the torch and get some new/fresh ideas inserted into the equation. I will still be around to lend a hand (just between us.....I plan to do a lot more partying, and a lot less work next year ) Russ did give me the honor of announcing the official Canopener 2013 dates: Jan 4th-6th. He will start a new 2013 thread later. But, start planning now.
I am working on editing the Canopener 12 video, and should have it posted on YouTube in a couple of days......check back here for the link. I can already tell that condensing everything down to 10 mins may be a problem.
Again, thanks to everyone for making this a historical rally! I hope to see all of you during our future travels.
Jenn and I wish you the very best!

Great job to all the people that went above and beyond the call to have a great rally. It's our first CanOpener with our daughter and one we will always remember.
Looking forward to next year with all of you and meeting new friends.

Ditto to all comments. This was a great one and Pat and I really enjoyed it. I think I had an advantage over many as I was able to meet everyone since I handed out the name tags. Of course, I can't remember many names as my aged brain has limited space available! See you all next year.

Thanks to all
Thanks especially to the locals that organized the 2012 Opener. Hope you have the best year yet, Ron and Jenn, Russ and Linda.
Bob and I had another great time and especially enjoyed the wonderful weather and the open house. Thanks to everyone for allowing us to tour your traveling homes and to meet you. What a wonderful group of people.
We feel like the rally is continuing here in Mobile as we're camped at City RV Park where the owners have 3 Airstreams including a '56 13 panel.

Woke up this morning and remembered I failed to thank Stratman (JT) for another evening of great entertainment. It was very much appreciated.

We arrived home at dark-thirty last night. Today I am finishing the unload of the Airstream and searching the internet for a 12 step detox program and weight loss combo plan. Maybe this should be part of the post-op schedule for next year. This years Can Opener was the best. Thanks to EVERYONE!!! We miss Jojo already!!!

Home Again
Susan and I arrived back in Pfafftown today from our first Canopener. Our Airstream has been re-winterized. We are looking forward to seeing our new friends on the road in coming months and returning to Topsail next year for Canopener 2013. Thanks to everyone who made this great rally possible.

Thanks to all for our first Canopener. It's one of the highlights of our Airstream adventures. We're still at Topsail and it's quite lonely!
We've posted some Canopener photos in two entries to our blog: findingourway.wordpress.com
Enjoy.
