I called back the reservation number and there are no more open spots in the 100 loop as everyone calls it here, but I moved to spot 53 which is closer. My older brother and his wife (screen name TAVnAsh) will be staying in spot 54 in their bunkhouse next to me. I'm sure we'll be smoking some good BBQ at some point and drinking copious amounts of beer while doing so. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

I'll be bringing my 27FB Ocean Breeze named "Miami Vice" by my Brother.

Oysters

I haven't tried Nicks. Where is Bayou Basin? I might have to try both this trip, just for a fair comparison. Jerry.

Three cheers for Roadtoaster for "volunteering" to do name tags! It's always nice when a brother steps up to share the load.

Of course he was pulling your leg about the drawing for the new Airstream......we all know that a 34' Classic is not offered in Airstream's 2012 lineup.

Site map has been updated: Canopener Site Map - Photo Gallery

Best guess is 60 Airstreams, and 120 bodies......but, we're still missing some names, etc. on the RSVP page.

To reiterate what Roadtoaster said "no first names on the RSVP page....no name tag." (but, don't let him try to charge you for them )

In case you have misplaced the RSVP link: Airstream Forums - Canopener 2012

1. Name tags will be created based on the information contained on the sign up/RSVP page. Please make sure you have listed the first names of everyone attending in your group. No names listed, no name tags. (name tags are required to enter the drawing for a 2012 34' Classic being given away by Chief ).

2. For those of you that have attended before, please bring your old name tags. We will provide new inserts but can use the old lanyard/holder if you have it.

3. We will be in site 155 beginning around noon Thursday. You can pick up your name tag anytime after that.

Not sure they will be fancy but with so many first timers, they should be helpful.

Thanks
Just bumping this one. Again, all I need is the first name of each person attending in your group, so please update the RSVP page. The name tag will have your screen name and first name printed, and maybe the CanOpener logo.

bad news / bad news / really bad news / GOOD NEWS

bad news [a] - we were planning on being in FL jan 2012 - plans have changed

bad news [b] - we had really wanted to attend the jan. canopener - now we won't

bad news [c] - just read the menu and we are really bummed [can we fly in just for the meal?]

GOOD NEWS - we will be cancelling our reservation with ReserveAmerica.
This is site 162 in the 103 [100?] loop.
Arrival fri 1/6/12, Lving mon 1/9/12
we wanted to give our AS friends a chance at this - maybe someone who wants to go but did not get a
reservation in yet.

I'm not sure how soon the site will open up after I call so anyone interested should keep an eye open.

good luck and maybe next year,

Sorry to hear that you won't be able to make it. Know that you are welcome anytime.......and, that includes dinner.

Thanks for posting your site cancellation......it is a good site with a great neighbor (Howie). Hopefully it will be snagged quickly by another "streamer."

I will post a Canopener "Activities List" after Thanksgiving. Luckyducks, Roadtoaster, and myself are spending a couple of days at Topsail over the Thanksgiving weekend, and will try to come up with a plan to shoehorn 100+ bodies into a clubhouse that really only holds around 90. Everyone be sure and not forget their deodorant for Saturday's potluck!

Topsail bound

Sorry az-streamer had to cancel but this gives us the opportunity to attend another Can Opener. We made the first one but haven't been able to get back since. Also we think we haven't seen Howie/Braith since that Can Opener '07 so being neighbors will give us a chance to catch up. I say "we think" because traveling memories just blend into traveling time which, as the miles pass by, gets less specific. Anyhow, looking forward to the event and seeing old friends along with making new ones.
