Canopener 2012 Update

The site map has been updated to reflect the latest known changes: Canopener Site Map - Photo Gallery

We have 40 Airstreams, and 80 bodies signed up thus far. There are 17 sites left in the 100 loop. As you can see on the map, SOB's are starting to fill the remaining spots......need I say more to anyone that's still thinking about a reservation?

Sometime during the next month, or so, I will post a schedule of events/activities. I have reserved the clubhouse for Friday-Sunday. The "Friends of Topsail" have a set schedule (2nd Saturday of the month) for the pancake breakfast/Ranger talk. I requested an "out-of-cycle" presentation for Saturday/7 Jan. So far, they are not willing to make an exception for our group......amazing in that they are passing up the potential for $320 of revenue. I am still hoping that someone will realize the "error of their ways." If not, we'll just have to hang around Annette's famous Bloody Marys a bit longer.

Make your wishes known

Traditionally, Friday is arrival day for most Canopener attendees. A large contingent of folks usually get together and go out for dinner (most at Red Bar). It's the "after dinner" activities that I need your opinion on. I have setup a poll at the beginning of this thread (expires in 30 days). Please indicate your preference for the Friday "after dinner" activity (you can choose more than one answer, if you have a talent to showcase.....no Greg, don't click on all of them).

Hi Everyone,

We are from Olympia, WA (the state). We will be in Florida for our first Canopener, scheduled to be there on Thurs 1/5 until 1/8 in site 168. Sounds like a lot of fun, hope this older couple will be able to keep up.

Welcome

Welcome to all the new signups! It appears this will be the first Canopener for at least 25% of attendees.....and some will have traveled quite a distance to join us.

The site map has been updated: Canopener Site Map - Photo Gallery

If you have not done so, please add your info to the RSVP page (it is the only place that we can keep track of total numbers, cancellations, etc.).

Airstream Forums - Canopener 2012

Don't forget to cast your vote at the beginning of this thread.

Looking forward to seeing old friends, and making new ones.

We have tried shirts (never posters) a few times, but there was only a luke warm response. Last year I established a Cafe Press account for shirts, but only a couple were purchased. So, the real answer is "No."

I will provide a high-resolution graphic of the Canopener 12 logo that I designed, if anyone wants to produce something for themselves (or others).

Paul & Dee will be in site 165, arriving Thursday. We've been to Topsail Hill before, but this will be our first Canopener.

Hmmm, I guess no one told Sal that "first time" Canopener attendees have to pay for two sites (one for themselves, and one for a Canopener returnee).

Map has been updated (only nine sites remaining in the 100 loop). Of course, I can't guarantee against future errors if I update it with a glass of JD & Coke in hand.
