We are planning on getting there on Wednesday now but will probably have to pull out on Sunday. Our refrigerator quit this weekend so we may have to use coolers like the old timers did. I'm looking to see if I can find one today or tomorrow to put in.
Greg, don't worry, this should not have an impact on the Bloody Mary's. No sauce was lost!

New refer

New one is installed and cooling.
Ready to get on the road! Wish I could make my Avitar bigger!
Supposed to be cooler finally here. Should be perfect Canopener weather.
I thought for a while it would be to hot for a camp fire.

Nice Weather Predicted

Next couple of nights will be near freezing at Topsail. But then, it's going to be high 60's during the day and around 59 at night. Sure glad I befriended the weather gods on Facebook.

Be careful if you are towing through Destin. We were shopping there today and the traffic was pretty heavy.....you would think most of the holiday visitors would have left by now.

Shopping

Here is some shopping information:

Walmart - There is a new Walmart that opened since we gathered last. It has a full grocery section but the rest of the store is smaller compared to most Walmarts. Directions: from Topsail Hill State Park, go north .5 miles on Highway 30A to Highway 98, and then turn left (west) on Highway 98, go another .7 miles to the store. Total distance 1.2 miles. Address: 6712 US Highway 98 West, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459.

Publix grocery stores -

(1) If you come down Highway 331 from the north to Highway 98 (and turn right to the west), you will drive past a Publix on the right side of Highway 98. It is just 6 miles from the campground. Address: 2038 US Highway 98 West, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459.

(2) If you are already at the campground, there is a Publix that is closer. Follow the directions to the Walmart but just go another 1.5 miles further west. Total drive from the campground of 2.7 miles. Address: 725 Grand Boulevard, Sandestin, FL 32550.

Lowes or Home Depot - both of these stores are further west on Highway 98. About a 15 minute drive.

Topsail Hill Preserve State Park - for those of you with GPSs, here is the address from the park website - 7525 West Scenic Highway 30A, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459.

Site 147 is now Available

Hi Folks,

Sadly we have to cancel. Pat has come down with a monster head and chest cold and is not up to making the trip. We're off to the doctor today instead of making our preparations to head north.

I just canceled site 147 on line if anyone wants to move in there.

Randy

Randy, sorry to hear the bad news. Tell Pat we'll be thinking of her and we hope she has a speedy recovery. See you guys down the road! Russ

Sorry to hear that Randy. We hope Pat bounces back in time to make the unit rally in Jacksonville.

Airstreams arriving!

I just received a call from my son who works in Santa Rosa Beach. When out for lunch he saw 4-5 Airstreams in a caravan coming down Highway 98 almost to Topsail Hill.

It's going to be so sunny and clear the next few days, you better bring your sunglasses to protect your eyes from the glare of the Aluminum!

It's looking like 70 degree temps this weekend. Bring your bathing suits also. Birthday suits are acceptable.

Safe travels!
