Saturday Morning Breakfast

Considering that there is only one seat left.........If there is a couple who wishes to attend the Saturday morning breakfast, my wife is willing to give up her spot. There are usually cancellations, and if that happens I will just add her back to the list. Let me know via PM.

Anyone want to caravan down with us? We are leaving at 9 AM on Monday January 2, 2012. We are staying at Sherling Lake Park that night. There is a Cracker Barrel at this exit. From Sherling Lake Park to Top Sail it is only 4 Hours. Tuesday morning we will eat at Cracker Barrel between 9 & 10 then leave for Top Sail.

From our house in Dandridge, TN ' it take a little over 7 hours to get to Sherling Lake Park. This is the route that we will be taking.

I-40 West through Knoxville.
I-75 South to Chattanooga.
I-24 West
I-59 towards Birmingham, Alabama
I-459 towards Tuscaloosa/Birmingham
I-65 towards Birmingham/Montgomery

At exit 130 [on I-65] go west on AL-185 for about 2 .5 miles then AL-185 veers off to the right. There you will pick up AL-263 which goes straight ahead. Go about 3 .4 miles and the campground will be on the left. Last year it was real foggy so I almost missed the turn into the campground. The cost is $25.00 for one night for seniors.

Give us a call if you are coming and get lost. Jim Rogers 865-803-3963

From Sherling Lake Park after eating at Cracker Barrel we will get back on I-65 and head south to exit 93. We pick up US-84 and go East till we pick up US-331. Then we head south till we dead end into 98/30. Turn right and go to W Co Hwy 30A . Turn left and then right into Top Sail.

I saw a rumor on another thread that Sky has talked Roadtoaster into hosting a bourbon tasting at his site while we watch him install his PP. An added bonus we can now watch him wax his trailer to stop the crud.
I just hope it will be scheduled after the clown bike parade. Don't want Chief to get hurt.

Joe,

Better not give ole Roadtoaster too much of a hard time. Remember who is making the name tags......and DH is not coming this year!

Clown Bike Parade......I do indeed have a picture of the leader.....none other than our own AirheadsRus. What day/time is the ride?

Joe, Chief makes a very good point about name tags and the missing DH. Someone will need to take his place. Now if I can just get a volunteer!

We are first timers for the Canopener and have just registered for site 50 (outside the loop). There will be two of us.

I can see that the breakfast with the ranger is full. Is it too late to sign up for any of the Potluck meals? Where do I need to go to provide info for name tags? Is there anything else we need to do?

Hi Mike,

For name tags you need to sign up on the RSVP page. One way to access it is through the portal page, go down to the Airstream Rally Calendar and click on Canopener Rally. That brings you to the RSVP sign up page and then go to the bottom of that page, check yes, and fill your names/site number in the comments area. Or, maybe this link will work:

Airstream Forums - Canopener 2012

For the potluck meals, it's not too late. Copy the last meal signup into a new reply and add your contributions. If you need help just post what you plan to bring and someone else will add it in.

Welcome to the Canopener!

Russ

Mike, Welcome - don't give up hope, in the last few weeks there will be lots of cancellations in sites and activities. People's lives get in the way of fun. It always happens.

You picked a great first rally.

1. Name tags will be created based on the information contained on the sign up/RSVP page. Please make sure you have listed the first names of everyone attending in your group. No names listed, no name tags. (name tags are required to enter the drawing for a 2012 34' Classic being given away by Chief ).

2. For those of you that have attended before, please bring your old name tags. We will provide new inserts but can use the old lanyard/holder if you have it.

3. We will be in site 155 beginning around noon Thursday. You can pick up your name tag anytime after that.

Not sure they will be fancy but with so many first timers, they should be helpful.

Thanks
Bumping this for late arrivals. Chief has helped this non-techie get the ball rolling on the name tags. If you don't like the design, blame him .

Remember, this is a very laid back rally and time is not of the essence. If I have to leave my site, I may leave the name tags in an obvious place for self service. If I can't or don't, just keep trying. For better service, please bring beer or bourbon .
