Yeah Greg, I'm getting slow in my old age. Besides, Rocky Bayou State
Park has a nice place to paddle, and only costs $16 a night. We
will stay there a couple nights and save a little bread. Maybe I'll
buy a nice bottle of bourbon to share with the $52 I'll save .

Final Updates
Five days......and, it's Canopener time!!!
As of today, we have 65 Airstreams and 129 bodies signed up. Due to cancellations, there are some prime sites open in Loop 103 if anyone is interested in moving.
Updated Site Map: Canopener Site Map - Photo Gallery
Also due to cancellations, there are five seats available for Breakfast with the Ranger.....PM me BEFORE tomorrow night if interested. I will turn in the final headcount to the volunteers on Monday morning.
The potluck participation numbers remain a mystery. We only have approximately 60 people signed up for the Saturday dinner, and a bit less for the Sunday morning breakfast. I don't want to discourage anyone from attending, but please be aware that if all 129 Airstreamers show up for dinner......it will be crowded. We will do our best to accomodate, but be prepared to be flexible.
The Schedule of Events has been updated, with a change (The Rivets are now hosting the after dinner campfire at their site #141 vs. #142): 2012 Canopener Schedule - Photo Gallery
The temps in the weather forecast really look great.....the only exception being a 30% possibility of precip on Saturday, but that will likely change. Today is a "Chamber of Commerce Day" with beautiful sunny skies and 65 degrees.
Jenn and I wish everyone a Happy New Year, and safe travels to Topsail. See ya in few days!

We saw a late model 19 foot Bambi being towed by a newer Ford F150 with California plates today on I-10 in MS heading east. You going to Topsail? You going to the rally? Got me wondering who is from Cali and in this area.

Another Cancellation - Site 136
I can't believe I am having to send this out, but we are also having to cancel. I even paid the change fee to add on another night and then work got in the way. I've waiting until the last minute hoping I could get someone to change with me, but no such luck. Therefore, Kayakampers will NOT be using site 136 and I won't cancel it until tomorrow (Monday). If anyone is interested in the site, send me a private email at bethwallace55@yahoo.com and we can coordinate when I call to cancel.
We were SOOOOOO looking forward to our first Canopener and are really disappointed. We'll hope to see some of you at either the Top of Georgia or the Stone Mountain campout this spring.
Beth

Just in time
Really looking forward for this year's CANOPENER 2012 and just in time, it's going to get really cold this coming week here in Georgia, and it will be wonderful to gather in a place with good weather, friends (old and new), good food & drink, and share some campfire delight. See you there!

Safe travels and best wishes for a wonderful CanOpener '12 for all of you rally-goers. We were lucky enough to attend the first Can Opener, but ever since life has interfered with our early January hopes. We might have attended this year, but dh's trial schedule landed right in the middle of Can Opener. Other years family issues have held us at home in the drear mid-Missouri winter. One day we'll return to TopSail when all the AS's and Argosys are gathered there. Til then, we love just knowing it's happening again. Happy Campfires! ~G

We are so excited to be going to our First Canopener. We left Olympia, Washington October 5th and have been wondering here and there. We are now in Pensocola NAS and will be at Top Sail Thursday about noon.

We are planning on getting there on Wednesday now but will probably have to pull out on Sunday. Our refrigerator quit this weekend so we may have to use coolers like the old timers did. I'm looking to see if I can find one today or tomorrow to put in.
Greg, don't worry, this should not have an impact on the Bloody Mary's. No sauce was lost!
