2012 Canopener

Congrats on the Georgia win. Glad to see that you got a spot. We will be in site#120 and will be arriving on Wednesday. Planning a serious oyster eating trip to Hunt's in Panama City probably on Thursday if you are interested. Stopped by the TOP today to check on the trailer and pick some stuff up. Planning to winterize and move to storage on Wednesday. Jerry.

I guess we are in the same boat or should I say Airstream. We are now permanent FL residents. Selling house in CT. Hope to make the Canopener in "13"!!

Looks like full house in 2012!!

Jerry, you had better keep going to Apalachicola. I don't think Panama City has enough oysters for you.

Canopener Updates

Just returned home after two weeks of viewing the beautiful fall colors of GA, AL and TN......our timing was perfect this year.

The Canopener site map has been updated: Canopener Site Map - Photo Gallery

It appears that we have 55 streams and 109 bodies signed up for Canopener......it may be a record year. There have already been some cancellations, additions, etc., which makes the RSVP page even more important. Please.....keep your information updated. If you look at the bottom of the RSVP page, you will notice that "tkasten" did it exactly right.....when they posted their cancellation, another streamer was able to snag the site.

Thanks to everyone for adding to the potluck dinner menus.....hopefully more will add their specialties.....I'm getting hungry already.

BTW, the Saturday Potluck is at 6:00 PM, not 5:00. The clubhouse will be open at 5:00 for setup and last minute prep.

Welcome....

Some of the numbering of the sites can be confusing. I'm pretty sure that you are not booked into 102, but rather 002 (which is a bit far from the actual 100 loop that we keep referring to). You would have been closer with site 011, but I know all good Marines don't mind a bit of hiking. Here's a link to the campground map: Campsite Map V2 - TOPSAIL HILL PRESERVE STATE PARK GREGORY E. MOORE RV RESORT, Fl - ReserveAmerica - [FL]

If you don't mind, please add your info to the RSVP page: Airstream Forums - Canopener 2012

Looking forward to meeting you.

Chief

Chief

I'll have to call back and check on the reservation. I asked the lady who made my reservation several times if that spot was in loop 100 and she said yes each time.

As for long hikes, I'll pass on that. I became a helo pilot so I wouldn't have to hike, but somehow I ended up hiking a lot in southern helmand last year, lol.

Looking forward to meeting everyone too.

I'll sit around the campfire and listen to that one all night.
