Anyone heading to the Canopener from the North on Jan 5, 2011?? We would like to meet up with you and caravan down. We are pretty flexible. We have reservations starting Jan 6. We are in Dandridge, TN. This is just East of Knoxville.

Should we start a sign-up sheet like the potluck? LOL
Sure hope Levon made a bigger batch this year!
I will be there with snifter in hand.

Sky, what is this remark about Levon and "bigger batch"? My mind is galloping.
We are trying to come up with some lesser known bourbon's with good reviews that don't cost an arm and a leg. I seem to recall you mentioned Woodford might be in your trailer. I still want another shot at it and it is not on our potential list. Any suggestions on your part?

Let's just leave it at that and be glad Levon is coming. Of course he could just be bringing a bigger batch of BBQ.
Won't be long now.

How about posting the rules for the raffle. Will items have to be wrapped, bidding by tickets or cash?

Hi All
I am very new to Airstream'ing and rallies. Just acquired a '78 31' Sovereign and commenced a pretty extensive rehab. It won't be road-ready by January but maybe for the next one! I've read this whole thread and viewed Chief's video from the 010 Can Opener - nice! I sent a pm to Moosetags since we are in the same neck of the woods - I'm a new transplant to Pensacola. He suggested that I should come out to the Can Opener on the Open House day and get some inspiration for the "after" photos I'll be posting when my project is done.
So guessing I'm asking to see if that would be OK? If not, no worry I'll just butt out and keep plugging at ripping out ancient carpet, gross curtains and all the rest. But if it would be OK, tell me when is the Open House and what I can bring - although looks like you folks have got the pot luck covered for the next generation or so.
Thanks! Looking forward to meeting all of you!

John,
Welcome to Airforums! Great idea on visiting us at Canopener. Open House starts around 1:00 on Saturday, but that doesn't mean you can't come out earlier to visit with folks.......everyone is very friendly and accomodating......especially if they have enjoyed some early morning Bloody Marys. If you want to participate in the potluck and raffle, make it easy on yourself with some simple store-bought items. I have a couple of friends (who don't own an Airstream.....yet!) that will staying in a cabin on Friday and Saturday night. But, that becomes a bit of an expensive alternative at $100 a nite with a two-nite minimum. Don't hesitate to come......you will feel very welcomed.....it's a friendly bunch. And, don't forget your camera for capturing those "good ideas" you are bound to come across.

After attending the first Can Opener and then being unable to work out scheduling for all the others, at last we are able to attend again, arriving Tuesday, Jan. 4, and leaving Tuesday, Jan 11. All sites in the A/S loop were reserved when Max called this morning, but we have a site just south of that loop. Yahooooo! Out of frigid mid-Missouri down to the Gulf, once again! We're counting on balmy sunshine and gulf breezes (ha!) after our snow, drifts, blizzard winds, and subzero wind chills. Yes, we followed the thread last year so we know the possiblities. Looking forward to all the Airstreams and Airstreamers...~maxandgeorgia Site 49, Loop 101

I have no idea how to attach items to the scheduled menu for Potluck and Breakfast, so I beg someone to attach us to that list. For Potluck, (after all, this IS the Gulf Coast!), we'll bring Boiled Shrimp with Bookbinder's Shrimp Sauce. For Breakfast, we'll bring Bailey's Irish Cream for coffee. Everything you all have listed sounds just scrumptious! ~G maxandgeorgia
