Good to see some of you have arrived at Topsail Hill safely. There was quite a bit of rain in the area today but the forecast is for sunny skies and temps not too cold (highs in upper 50s) for the next few days. This will be a great Canopener!

We're hitched and almost loaded. Will finish loading in the morning and start the long drive of 50 minutes.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Safe travels to those on or about on their way.

Actually, a shop told me about the water pump about 6 mo ago and I just don't believe it - I took it in for A/C repair and they stumbled upon the pump ???

But sometimes I am visited by Murphy when unexpected - isn't that always how Murphy appears?

Where are you two staying the night? I am half way tossing that around myself but trying to maintain my bravery...

We usually stay on I-75 northbound and stop in Valdosta for the cheap gas. There's a Walmart, Sam's, and Flying J there if we just want to park for the night. Or if it looks like it might be too cold or we need electric, there's campgrounds.

We've also stayed at White Springs (Stephen Foster SP) at I-75 and I-10, and at the Flying J just west of Tallahassee. I make the decision when I get tired.

From Valdosta, it's an easy drive west, and back into Florida to Topsail.

Randy

Well, I'm here at the Thursday dinner now. The chili and everything is great, especially the artichoke dip!!!

Everyone seems to be having a great time, except for me, sitting here in a corner by myself and typing this posting because everyone is ignoring me. Just kidding, I'm having a great time too.

We just arrived at our home for the night - a lovely campground in Montgomery called The Woods. I told Karen they named it the Woods because that's what they cleared to make room for the campground.

No worries, just a stopover. See you tomorrow!

I saw you over there sitting in the corner typing on your laptop. We all wondered how to approach you to loosen you up a bit! Just kidding.

You are right about the chili and artichoke dip!

A wonderful start to Canopener....what started as chili with the Luckyducks blossomed into a full-blown practice pot-luck! Great food, good company, and cold margaritas around the campfire. If this is any indication of what's to come.....it's going to be a great Canopener! Thanks to Russ and Linda for hosting this!

Lorri and I would like to get in a nice nature hike in the preserve while we are here. We did this last year on Sunday but many had left and there's talk of rain. Time windows close with all the activities. So...

We are going to go hiking at 10am tomorrow (Friday) and would like some company. We will meet at the big black truck in site 160 (Wild Oak Lane in the main Canopener section).

We are flexible, but figure 4 to 5 miles over a couple of hours.

We spent a quiet night at the Sugar Mill RV Park near Thomasville GA. Gas is 10 to 20 cents cheaper here and it's only 20 miles north of our I-10 route. We should be at Topsail this afternoon.

You are missed Steve. Take care of yourself and don't get up too soon. Hate for you to have a relapse.
We are having a great time.

Another great night at Canopener....with something new from the Roadtoaster and DH Team. What they intended to be a "sipping" session turned into a rather intense "tasting"'session, when they laid out a dozen bottles of fine bourbon. This was soon augmented with various forms of adult beverages, from other attendees....even hot buttered rum. Of course this this made for some very happy Airstreamers....especially for a couple of ladies who were happier than most (I wonder if we might have a few "no shows" for tomorrow's breakfast with the Ranger).

I'm jealous of all of you having such fun!! :-) But, I've got plans... for next year.
My Airstream is loaded on a flatbed and is probably somewhere between North Carolina and Connecticut. There was a snow storm- which may still be happening up there, but all I know is: something is happening! So, with any (good) luck, I won't be camping in my truck come Fall...

You all have a (continued) great time!

Rae

Looks like it will be beautiful here today. I think everyone survived last night in fine style based on the number of folks out this morning. Heading to the Donut Hole and then to Joe and Annette's for a Bloody Mary or two. Doesn't get much better than this
