Reservations Made

Steve,

We're reserved Thursday-Sunday, site #158. We also have a couple of local friends who have reservations for the same dates. As I mentioned last year, we are available to assist with this year's Canopener.....just let me know what you need.

Thanks for doing this again......had a great time last year (our first forum rally) and looking forward to another great one!

It's the Hottest Ticket in Town

Anne and I are reserved for the weekend.

If all parks were as nice as this one, no one would ever go home.

Wish we could be with the Can Openers this year, but we have made reservations far south of you at John Pennekamp SP from Jan 4 to Jan 16. We had planned on stopping by on our way down, thinking the Can Opener is always earlier than Jan. 9. We'll be too far to drive up in the middle of our stay, and you'll be gone when we pass back near the area heading home. This is so disappointing because we remember what a fun-filled event the Can Opener is and what a beautiful park TopSail is. So...we are Can Openers at heart, and we'll be thinking about the festivities when you gather. Btw, if anyone heads for the Keys after leaving the COpener, stop by and visit us at Pennekamp! ~G

Can Opener

I am sorry you 2 can not make it this year.I really would like to have done it around the first week of the new year but I was thinking about everyone coming down here.I would feel really bad if someone were driving and it happens to be an Airstreamer who gets hit by that person that had one 2 many. Also being that far away from home would make the trip bad for them also. That was one of the main reasons I picked the second week.Living here in the panhandle people and tourists get pretty wild on those long dark highways thinking they are a Nascar driver.

Don't suppose a later date in January or February might work? Sure would be nice to have the holidays at home or with family instead on the road (New Year's Eve in an Indiana truck stop was underwhelming last year!!!) and not come back to snow storms. Well I do see the date is later for 2009, saves the holidays but a break from winter later would be timely. It must be winter forever in the NorthEast. lol

But for sure, the Can Openers have been our MOST fun rallies ever!

hey d'man!

good to see the thread start.

ne1 considering this "canapalooza" should get to booking their site!

infact those folks who booked earlier based on the notion of "first weekend in jan" might need to re examine.

it's a fun time in a primo park and the food is pretty darn good.

LATER DATE?

it wouldn't be the opener then would it?

as it stand now, someone could slip in a new rally ONE WEEK earlier, which would make this the...

left-overs' rally...

as a matter of fact several of us who hit topsail b4 01/01/0? last year...

did have new a years (dinnerandpopthecork) party with the locals....

which was a LOAD of fun...

so come early, come often and come ready to par-tee!

this year ONE of the give-aways will be a genuine usa made, lifetime warranty...

swingaway can opener!

cheers

Well there you go then! We just have to make a point to start partying earlier and party longer.

Ok but this year Steve don't lock the rally thread before we even leave. We want to post pictures.

how 'bout spanning 2 weekends for those that can!

as for the 'before we leave' issues...

the problem for d-man is figuring out WHO has decided to just LIVE at topsail...

so ONE solution is post last years pictures HERE and NOW to whet some palates!

come on C, hang some pictures here will ya!

cheers

We're in. I'll make reservations tonight after I check our Disney reservations. We plan to tie this in with Disney - on the way down or bcak - I cannot remember so I have to wait to check the email I have at home. We wanted a longer winter vacation, hummm a 2 week CanOpener - that would work too.

See ya'll there. BTW - we are going to Topsail for our 20th in 2.5 weeks for the weekend - it's a great place.

Thanks for starting the thread Devoman - I've been waiting a while.

Mike

Mike,

Congratulations to you & Tina on your 20th Anniversary. Topsail-what a great place to celebrate a special occasion. Have fun!

We're in...

Space 154 that is...

See ya'all in January; at least we will be in the same area as the majority of folks this year. We felt a bit out of it last year being "stuck" out in the "overflow" area.

We are in too, space 153, same as last year. Arriving Thursday afternoon and leaving Tuesday. Looking forward to another great rally. 3 in a row.

Chief, looks like you, your wife and the new trailer will be our neighbors. We will do our best to keep the noise down .

Steve, we will be glad to help too. Since we arrive Thursday afternoon we can assist with anything assigned to us, either upon arrival or in the weeks leading up to the rally.

Just as an aside, we will be at Topsail starting August 30 for 4 nights, spaces 157 and 159. Come on by if you have the time. We will be doing a seafood boil either Sunday or Monday night. If anyone wants to join us, send me a PM. Small cover charge 'cause all my money will be spent on diesel to get there............................

Same here, may try the weekend before as we really like topsail especially in the winter. Maybe a precanopener rally for those of us who have to deal with kids and school.

Funny, reading this - I get ads for can openers from Target - way off the "target" for this thread.

Red Bar anyone - Friday night......
