Anne and I made it home safely. If not for HellonWheels, we'd still be sitting in the park. Thanks for the jump start!
We enjoyed the rally again this year, and we're planning to attend again next year. For those of you we don't see in April at Natural Bridge for the Kentucky Rally, we hope to see you at the Springstream.

Thanks to Devoman and everyone else that helped. We had a great time (again) and arrived home about 5:30 this afternoon. Really good to see everyone again, wish Saturday had been nicer, there were several units I did not get to see. But, there is always next year.
Again, as always - the CanOpener is the best event on our schedule all year. Hated to have the abbreviated version this year but work keeps us going. Hated also to leave the potluck so quick but I made it to the morning breakfast at Happy Campers, great biscuits, thank you.
Randy and Pat (Silvercabin) and Tim and Anne (IkeT), we really enjoyed the Red Bar on Sunday - GREAT TIME, good food and music.
Steve (Devoman), thank you for all the time and effort, it was great as always - next year we hope to be there for a week.
I saw a Rabbit in the mix, he was around - lurking in the shadows, good to meet up again.
Ahhhh, Fort Wilderness, time to relax and see Mickey.
Oh yes, S'foot - I have a long memory, we shall meet again, and this time you will pay dearly......
<SNIP>who knew that there was one particular site that had a sudden hatching of rare pigmy rattlers so a late arrival was forced to make several loops back to the ranger station...<SNIP>
We made it back yesterday afternoon. We always have such a great time at the can opener and it did not dissappoint this year. The weather was great right up until time to start the open house. We still managed to see several way cool trailers. Potluck was fantastic as always. Sugarfoot, I would love to have the recipe for that pudding. MMMMMMMM
Looking forward to next year already!

Ahhhh, Fort Wilderness, time to relax and see Mickey.
Glad to see that you and Tina made it to the Fort safely. Hated it that you had to go back home nearly as soon as you arrived. But I understand. Sorry we didn't have a chance to spend some time together. Maybe at the Springstream or other rally. If not, there is always next January.
Have a great time at Disney. You deserve a break. Enjoy.

with a thud, especially when I watched Topsail's balmly 57 degrees Sunday drop to 24 in Chattanooga yesterday morning.
We had a great time meeting new folks and catching up with others we know. Here's a few pics.
Geven and Dennis relax in front of Sweet Pea
"We're not afraid of any stinkin' rain!"
JP, we know one of those plates is for Julie, isn't it?.
And my favorite ~ Clancy Boy circling the park looking for a site free of pygmy rattlesnakes.
There's a few more photos here. Many of the potluck photos were either with mouths full or open so I left those out. Brad knows exactly what I'm talkin about. OK, one exception, Dale posed for that one.
. . . Sugarfoot, I would love to have the recipe for that pudding. . . .
Warning: There is nothing "heart healthy" about this recipe. And BTW, the meausrements are guidelines. I rarely measure anything when I cook.
Pudding 2 pounds bread, torn or cubed into pieces 1/2 cup heavy cream 10 eggs 24 ounces evaporated milk (two cans) 1 1/2 cups water 1 stick butter, melted 2 1/2 cups sugar 2 tablespoons vanilla 1 teaspoon nutmeg 2 teaspoons cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon salt 12 ounces white chocolate, chunked or chips 2 cups raisins soaked in boiling water to plump then drained 2 cups pecans, toasted and coarsely chopped 1 stick butter, cut in pieces
For Sauce 2 cups sugar 1/2 cup water 1 stick butter 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon The juice of one lemon The zest of one lemon 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 ounces Jack Danels, Black Label ( or more )
To make pudding
Butter a deep 9x13 baking pan or large disposable lasagna pan. Alternate three layers of the bread, chocolate, raisins, and nuts in the pan.
Use a large bowl. Beat the eggs. Wisk in the sugar, spices and remaining wet ingredients except for the butter. Vigorously wisk while streaming in the melted butter last. It won't blend in, but will float to the top of the custard in bits.
Pour the custard over the bread in the pan. With a large spoon carefully mix in the pan to distribute all ingredients well and moisten all the bread. You want a wet mixture rather than a dry one.
Dot the pudding with a stick of butter cut in pieces. Bake at 325 degrees for 60 to 90 minutes, or until bread pudding has browned and risen about 1-inch. Serve warm with the sauce over bread pudding.
Jack Daniels Sauce
Place water and sugar in saucepan. Mix until sugar dissolves. Set over medium heat and cook until mixture comes to boil. Immediately reduce to low simmer and cook until mixture is clear.
At this point I add about 2 ounces of JD and reduce the sauce further. I'll also add some cornstarch in a bit of cool water to thicken the sauce. When I'm happy with it I turn off heat.
Stir in butter until completely melted. Add cinnamon, lemon juice, lemon zest, vanilla and more JD to taste the kick. Serve immediately or reheat when ready to serve.
I suppose that I should have posted that Jennifer and I arrived home safely, but considering our journey was only 15 miles....everyone probably figured we were home already!
What a great rally.....I'm really getting too old for that much Jack (Roadtoaster and AFWPC). We had so much fun that I completely forgot to take any pictures, so I really appreciate those that are being posted.
Spent most of yesterday winterizing the rig.....it's supposed to be down in the 20's this week.......thank you to all the northerners for bringing that cold weather to the South.
Hope everyone has as much fun as we did......next Canopener is just 11.5 months away......see ya then!

That means we need to pick a date so I can make my reservation! I'm that ready for the next one.
So when will it be Devoman?
